I don't use any. Is your bike pinging? Using 91 pump gas should be plenty good for it. |

Ive heard that octane booster is really bad for motors. I have still used it when there were people freaking out about gas running out and all there was for like a month was 87 octane. but my bike usually runs best on 110 octane race pump gas. runs cooler and stronger. |

where do you get the 110 octane race gas from? |

I run Klotz, booster. It's sensor safe. and smells sweet. Just remember any booster you run needs to be lead free-sensor safe, lead based fuels and boosters will destroy your O2 sensor |

Yea, I was thinking about using octane booster when all the stations that I frequent only have one hose per the three octanes, but then I heard that it wasn't necessary because those hoses don't hold that much fuel. My motor did ping a little when the temp was over 100 degres using 91 octane, and after quite awhile of riding. |

Last September on my annual NC mountains trip, we had a hard time finding gasoline and when we did it was regular. So, we bought octane booster and added it to the regular. We bought what we could find, as there was on a run on the booster as well. It seemed to work, although I ran one tank of regular before we could find any booster and I didn't have any problems I could notice on that tank. |

There is a dirt track about 15 min away from my house. so there are about 5 different gas stations with it |

I buy my 110 octane at the sunsports motorcycle dealer or the hotrod car parts store they will be in blue 5 gallon metal cans. |

We used to run 110LL in the MX bikes because it was always cheaper than (read: we were too cheap to buy) VP. Even at $6.79 per gallon full service it was still cheaper. Be careful... IIRC VP red is what most speed shops carry and it contains lead. |

If you're running higher octane than your engine needs, you are wasting money. If you aren't getting spark knock with 93 octane, adding octane booster or running 110 octane doesn't make any more power or provide any other benefit. If you jack the compression up to 12:1, advance the ignition curve, etc. you might see a benefit from the higher octane fuel. |

But the high octane fuel smells so yummy! I run a tank of 100 octane through my bike every 3-4 weeks. It runs a bit hotter on that tank, but definitely runs smoother. Probably has nothing to do with the octane, and everything to do with being non-oxygented, but it still smells good! |

You can LOSE power if you're running a higher octane than you need. If you ARE getting "knocking" then you might need higher octane IF you don't have carbon deposits or don't have ignition timing issues. If you are getting overheating that is causing "knocking," you have other issues. I'd think you could save your money and put it elsewhere (like a good burger and soda for your lunch break in mid-ride) |

Isn't 110 race gas leaded, as in it will ruin your O2 sensor? |

As has been mentioned...if your engine pings, you need a higher octane fuel....or less timing. IF...your engine does NOT ping....it's a total waste of money for better gas and-or boosters. Just like the wonderful and all fixing, hp making....."Split Fire" spark plugs! A fix where there was no problem...! Mike |

Ochoa - 91 is all there is in Cali unless you go buy race fuel. There is the occasional 100 octane unleaded at the pump, but gas stations that have it are few and far between. (Message edited by boltrider on April 08, 2009) |
