If it says Megs on the muffler, I ca bet that it is welded to the header and that it is a Fotce exhaust, which is awesome loud (I've had three Force exhausts). |

Congratulations!!! Looking forward to pics. Before and after are always nice. I use regular automotive soaps with wax to clean mine, degreaser on the puddles and heavy oil but take care with it around bearings and such. Since I'm in a condo with no hose available I just fill a two gallon pump sprayer with hot water, rinse, soap, and rinse. If you've got a Force pipe you'll need to switch the whole thing out or hack it up to change the volume level. Might be better to sell it complete and try for a complete Buell race exhaust (header plus internal disk muffler = tune able noise, as Nevr said). Or a stock header ('99+ model years use a 2.5 inch collector) and a slip on like the supertrapp, vance and hines, borla, white brothers, jardine, scorpion... there's lots of options there. Supertrapps and White Brothers are tune able, and Borlas sound soooo good, very deep powerful sound without too much noise (personal fav, they made a full and a slip-on). Used to have a White Bros but didn't like the exhaust outlet location (choking on exhaust at every stop light and hot foot on the interstate - even with the special deflector). I run a V & H now (it's okay) but have a Supertrapp I'm putting on once I've got it polished. If I'm not pleased with the Supertrapp I will begin a earnest search for a Borla (slip-on). Beautiful sound and supposed to have good power too. |

I too have an '02 M2 in Carbon Black and it is prone to showing up the dirt and scratches, (especially seeing that I ride it daily!!!) So I trade of keeping it immaculate by keeping it protected! By that I mean I clean it on the weekends only, but throughout the week, especially in wet season I liberally douse the metal parts in LANOX by INOX but any "Non-Silicone" Protectant would do. Of Course give the disc brakes a wide berth or that 340mm disc will be useless! However - If you are looking at keeping it immaculate for the fine-weather weekend ride with your club then I suggest "BP Degreaser" for the really dirty parts and it won't harm your electrics either! I take it down to the Turbowash with the multi-choice gurney settings and soap spray it all over (the lanox that I use stops the electrics and such being washed out as it doesn't completely strip away) then I rinse, set gurney to low pressure wax (all over) then streak-free rinse. Soft Clean Chamois then a 20min ride on clean roads. Chamois the odd trickle left from the ride when I get home. That's all you need, anything else is obsessive I.M.O. As for oil, I use Torco - and swear by it. The only step up from there is Kendall!!! Mobil 1 for V-twins is awesome as well! I use Mobil Synergy 8000 fuel (98 RON) and it loves it. All the best. Just remember - "Spend more time riding than you do cleaning and you will get what this bike is REALLY about!" |

I'll scan a page or two and pm them to you in the morning. There may be a thread on the speed sensor in the knowledge vault, might see if you can find your answers there in the mean time. You need a service manual, and the parts manual is great for not only pn's but the exploded views are sometimes just as good as the instructions... |

80% off both those books!!! AND you are saving a ton of money by owning the things too. You got hooked up. Looks like that is a Force pipe on your bike, can someone verify? If it's too loud, clean it up and sell it, many people want those things so you should be able to sell it pretty easily, maybe compare prices on ebay and craig's list and new for your value... Looks nice |

Nice I like the M2. This winter I am ganna pull the motor out of mine and really get into it. I want to try and get 130 HP at the rear tire. The first fun night is coming up soon at the drag strip, I will let you know what it does in the quarter mile! Right now I am pushing 90 HP |

Way to go Prebs! I knew you'd pick one out sooner or later. Glad it was sooner! And a nice one at that! Broke mine two years ago, just after I'd got attached to it. THINK, I got it ready to go last night, getting ready for the test ride. I'm excited about some Cyclonic fun! You know what I mean by now. Rotzaruck! |
