Since we are keeping the quickboard so interesting, I thought I would start another controversial topic. I think the firebolt is a giant leap forward compared to the x1. What do you think?? |

How about forward into a different gene pool? Wouldn't the X1 vs XB9S Lightnings be a more apples to apples comparison? |

The x1 is the closest tube frame buell to the firebolt. We dont have to be exact, lets just compare. |

When the X1 came out, I thought "Hmmmmm, this is the best American Motorcyle in my lifetime, but it's still a bit too heavy, too expensive and too unreliable." When the XB9R came out, I thought "Where do I sign up?" |

When the S1 Lightning came out I thought "Damn, that thing is seriously cool but it's really expensive!" When the X1 came out I thought "That's pretty cool, but kind of expencive" and I bought a M2. When the Firebolt came out I thought "That's pretty cool, but kind of expencive" and I bought a Triumph. When the XB9S Lightning came out I thought "Damn, that thing is seriously cool but it's really expencive!" I'm still riding the Triumph. |

Maybe because they are both Buells with upgraded sportster engines and are both naked bikes. Just something to get people to argue about. |

Too expensive? If the XB9R was painted black/orange and had a cheesy HD 100th anniversary medallion slapped on the tank instead of BUELL, then the bike would probably list for $12,995 and sell for $15k. Fortunately for us this ain't the case. New Firebolts on the net as low as $7999 with 0.9% financing!! When has Buell's most expensive model ever been priced below $10k? But it's ONLY a 984 you say? But it DOESN'T have 100hp you say? Then why did I have so much fun putting 1,000 miles on mine during the holidays while the CBR600F4 and Monster just sat in the garage? |

Maybe because it's a seriously fun bike to ride?! I'll stick with my X1 thank you very much--the XB's still lacking in overall oomph that my 240# 6'-4" frame requires--wouldn't be interested in a Hardly Dangerous, though, even if it was a Buell by another name. That whole genre reeks of yuppie scum these days--bady boy bikers ride Buells I have had the pleasure of putting around in the company of the Firebolt whilst astride my X1 and have to admit it is a lovely bike--but in no way capable of outrunning my X1 (on the straights). I like the noise, the vibration, the huge tank of the X1. I like the "what planet" technology and styling of the Firebolt. If I didn't have to choose one or the other I'd want both! |

As a previous S1W and M2 owner I will admit to noticing a lack of oomph initially with my first test ride on the XB's, both of which were race kitted. Jumping from the XB9R onto the CBR is very entertaining. They each have their own character, and I wouldn't change either one. Kinda funny that the Honda is black and orange though. |

Understand the commonality between the New Firebolt and Lightning. Ergo's (reason for my previous post) and power is my preference. Therefore, the X1 stays until something bigger and better comes from HD/Buell. |

Well i have sat on the Firebolt, and i own a X-1 WL, and with my 6'2"+ frame with my long legs the XB's are just too darn small. like someone said, me on an XB looks like a monkey ______ing a football... we shall leave the comments about that to ourselves... |

Well, given the choice...I'd take the X1. Nice as the XB's are technically...I'm not gonna ride like a racer on the street and like the motor, chassis, and general layout of the tubers a little better. |

...and another thing...I'd have strip the s**t out of an X1 before I'd deem it acceptable. |

Blackbelt...Same relative size, feelings and comments. Also felt that my size would negatively effect the CG and the handling capabilities of the Firebolt. In the sport bike category, I felt much more at home on the RC-51 and CBR954RR. |

Rick...Could not agree with you more!!! That is one of the reasons, I can't quite fathom why this thread is comparing a sport bike to a streetfighter. |

Mainly just to get people to disagree with each other and put down or talk good about each others bike. |

AR15...And that you have done well. LOL All kidding aside, the X1 stays in my stable until something more exciting than either of the new XB's is introduced by either Buell or Harley. |
