Well zack! I really like loretta!! You've got really good taste. I can't wait to find me a set of amber wheels! Dan and jewels already set me up with one of dans old amber windscreens from his 12R days! ? Are all of the air box covers interchangeable or did you have to mod the one from the cityx ? Anyway! Sweet bike and nice to meet ya. |

Zack, now that you'll have Sundays off I should set the party up for a Sunday so you can come. Hopefully towards the end of July/August. Make your plans now |

All XB and 1125 airboxes are function/fit interchangeable. There are some minor cosmetic differences around the fuel-fill like screens or not... My airbox is off an 07 City-X and wheels are from a Lightning also. Both straight swaps. Very cool idea Julie - gives me time to talk my wife into it. Z |

yea it sucks, it's been two weeks for us too. There's not much snow on the ground but it's windier than all snot. I just hope next Sat is nice cause it's track day at HPR. I haven't even gotten to try out my new tires yet. |

I am back on the road and the S3T is running great. Frank helped me rebuild the carb. He was right, it is way too easy. He also noticed my exhaust bracket was broke front and rear and he replaced it. New plugs, plug wires and Frank did some adjustments that I have no idea what they were. While he was showing me a better way to replace the isolators he noticed a bolt missing and he had it on hand. Being in Frank's garage was like a Buell history lesson. I had never seen a S2 much less a S2-T before. He gave me some reading homework and I am starting to feel better about owning this bike. Unfortunately I will be heading back to the East Coast for awhile but at least I know I have a running bike when I return. Doc |

OK guys, it was great other than the gale force winds and cold. Thank you John for trying to help me get warm, I was actually shivering and couldn't feel my fingers. Well, the track is pretty cool, only a couple of real tight turns. Did 100 miles on the track. Have no chicken strip on the FRONT tire and some on the back, but it's going to be hard to get rid of it due to having 190's on the back. I must say, that BUELL holds the corners. Twice I felt the rear tire slip on turn 6 and Dan's thought was that that part of the tire hadn't been ridden on yet (they're new tires) and still had the original oils. Once I did several more laps it didn't slip again. I liked turn 11, they call it the bobsled. It's a long Right hand corner going uphill and once the bike's in position, you can just throttle on. What a hoot. There's some blind corners that immediately head down hill so until I became comfortable with the track, I was on the brakes at times. Probably the main concern I had, being a female, is that the guys that are serious about racing haul butt. I did get to 110 mph in the straight. Was hoping to hit 120mph but the wind was a bit intimidating. The bike was sideways fighting the wind. Oh yea, and LOTS of tumbleweed flying across the track and one dead rodent. And he was right in the path I liked to take. Several guys went off the track. I had to make sure I wasn't looking at them, you know, target fixation. All in all, I can't wait to get back on the track but only if it's a nice warm (and hopefully not windy) day. I'm not sure it will ever NOT be windy out there at HPR. Would like to get back to Pueblo this summer too, it's a more technical track and half the length. We didn't get too many pictures cause it was just too cold out there. John, if you got any pictures would love to see them posted. |

I'm back in Canon City after the most unexpected weather for riding I've encountered yet. If I had known Friday evening that the weather was as good as it would get I would have drove my truck up to High Plains Raceway. Julie did very well on the track despite the difficult wind and cold. Sympathy goes out to Bob who broke a belt after only a few laps and had to sit out the rest of the day. It was impressive to see his and Roger's tubers out on the track. Kudo's to whoever had that black 1125R doing some really great drag starts. I think he bruised one guys ego. I left the track a bit early with some of the hardest wind riding I've ever faced. It felt like I was dancing with a bear the whole way to Castle Rock. I stayed an extra night with Dan and Julie(wonderful hosts by the way) and woke up at 7AM to fog...then rain and fog...then snow and fog! Well, the wind wasn't blowing real hard so I made a dash for Canon City. I think I found my weather limit today. But the XB9 didn't let me down! (Message edited by j2blue on April 12, 2009) |

Oh, thank GOD you're home Jody. We were praying for you and safe travels home. I must say tho, I think your crazy, but I'm glad you made it OK. Take a nice hot shower and warm fluids to get your insides warm. Hope to see you soon in better weather. Spring is a fickle time in Colorado, as you have found out. I must say, you should get together with Cityslicker, he loves riding in adverse conditions. The guy with the 1125R is from Colorado Springs, his name is Michael. He works in Longmont. He had a blast. He's looking at getting into racing now. (Message edited by jumpinjewels on April 12, 2009) |

Julie, I took tons of pictures and a lot of you on the track. It was Brian's camera and he has the pictures. But, I talked to him today, and he will be posting the good ones on badweb either today or tomorrow in the tail section. He will be sending everyone in the club a email with the link. Again, Julie you did great and I was cheering you on, even thought it was not a race. Glad I helped a little to try and warm ya up. I could not have taken the cold on the bike like you did. I froze butt off standing still let alone doing a 110 mph. Wow. John |

Got the email from Brian and took a look at the pictures. I'm now officially a "guyette", cute. I had a great time and having all those Buells was even better. Last year Dan and I were the only one's with Buells. Now we just need to get more of us guyettes going to the track. Actually it would be a blast to have the track for Buells only (Dave, are you seeing this???) And an 1125cr to play with!!!!!! WOW!!!! |

John, saw the pictures. Nice. HPR is a hard track to get good action pictures. Where most of the tight turns are is out of site from the pit area. My son is into photography. It would be nice if I could get him out there (with permission of course) to take pictures so he can get a feel for the photography profession. And learn to take action shots. |

Julie, Pictures look great! Shame about the weather. I can't wait to hit HPR, I'm going to be up there for the May & June races. I'm also trying to get some track time at HPR with Mark S. Are you going to do any racing? We have three guys down here now that are racing their Buells, and doing well. Now that you have your license, you could come on down and do SMRI. We've got the first W.O.W (Women of the West joint SMRI & MRA series) race this weekend. I'd be more the happy to show you around the track anytime you want. There is also a SF Harley/Buell sponsored track day at Sandia on the 26th of this month. |

Hey guys/girls: Got a question....I'm from Chicago, IL and I'm planning on coming out to Colorado Springs for Labor Day weekend this year (Parent's Weekend at Air Force Academy)...is there any dealer out there that rents a Uly? I'm wondering if I should give Pike's Peak H-D a call. I would love to ride mine out but I don't think time will permit. I suppose I could settle for a Harley but I'd WAY rather have a Buell! Any help would be appreciated. Cheers |

Hangon, you might try getting a hold of Dave (jammin_joules) at High Country HD/Buell and see if they rent Ulys. They are up north of Denver, about 100+ miles from Colorado Springs, but they're a great bunch of guys. I don't know much about Pikes Peak but I don't think they would have Ulys to rent. Hope that helps. |
