I would say use a heat gun and a plastic scraper. DO NOT OVER HEAT THE PAINT! It will melt right off. The sticker should melt way before the paint. But again, the paint will melt. Might try a hot hair dryer first. Keep everything very clean so you wont scratch the paint while scraping. Try wd40 to remove the leftover goo. If that wont cut it, you may have to use alcohol. If you are still on the 01', the paint will look new under where the decals were, and faded everywhere else. You will likely have to polish out the whole tank to "brighten it up". Hope this helps. |

a blow-drier, plastic putty knife (non-gouging sharp edge) and some patience. maybe some acetone, but don't ruin your paint... and i think yer caps lock is stuck on... |

What paint are you goofballs talking about? We are talking about the 'Buell' or 'Blast' decals on the 'tank' right? There shouldn't be any concern for "melting paint" if this is the case. Although, I don't know what the melting point of the plastic is. I would recommend a good hair dryer to heat up and loosen the adhesive, a razor to start pulling up the decal, yank it off, and buff the crap out of it. You might need some goo-off or another similar product to get the rest of the adhesive off before you buff it. Unless the '01 has a metal tank, and then forget what I said. |

All this time I thought the Blast tanks were metal. I stand corrected! Stay away from the heat gun, use the hair dryer instead. |

Problem is Barb, the Blast is so much fun to ride, he'll still risk people seeing the striping and butterflies!!! |
