After 3 weeks in the shop I finally got my bike back and have mounted up my new Moto-Delux mirrors. The stock mirrors will NEVER go on the bike again! Very little vibration and much greater field of view. I was a bit concerned about a wider field of view from a smaller mirror because everything would look smaller. Because of the lack of vibration you see everything more clearly even though it looks smaller. I'm sold! Here's my concern... The adapter that goes in the bar end expands quite a bit to grip the stock bar and is quite sloppy at the outer edge of the bar. Do you Moto-Delux users use the adapter or do you slide the grips inward to mount them directly to the bar? It seems to me that the adapter would be likely to give problems in the long run. I thought I would ask before going through the hassle of trying to get the left grip off. I did go as far as starting to move the clutch perch and electrical switch housing, but noticed that the switch housing has a locater pin that looks like it will need to be filed down (or a new hole drilled in the bar). Small issues here, but I thought I would draw on the BadWeb experience before re-inventing the wheel myself. Thanks! |

Sifo, I have been running the moto-deluxe mirrors for over a year now and I love them. I had problems when using the adapter as well at first. What I was put some rubber around the adapter, and then stuck it into the bar end, and then tightened it up. Mine are as tight as they can be and have no play at all in them. Hope this helps, good luck. |

Thanks O2! I was thinking about looking for some tubing that could replace/enhance the expansion part of the adapter. I think even wrapping the expander with Duct tape would help. Seems to be the weak link of the system, but everything else seems very good for the price. |

Yeah i was thinking the along the same lines as you. My right mirror fit perfect but the left one would not get tight and I ended up bending the adapter inside too far from over tightening. Problem fixed with some tape or rubber. Other than that the mirrors are great. For $35 you cannot beat them. |

I just tried a few wraps of electrical tape. Much better fit. I have a feeling that this might be a problem with many of the bar end adapters because of Buell using a fairly thin wall steel bar instead of aluminum alloy. I'm so happy dumping the mouse ears! |
