...with the naked eye, last night, and man was it bright! It is now the second brightest object in the night sky (the moon is #1) beating out "the morning star" Venus.

This latest shuttle mission installed the final two solar arrays then snapped this picture last week on the way home.

Spectacular!

I had been looking for a chance to see the ISS, but didn't bother to look at a schedule for viewing opportunities. I've just been watching the night sky.

...and last evening around 8pm, WOW!, there it was! Unmistakable.

I watched it pass directly overhead (well 88 deg. nearly 90) for about three minutes, even had a chance to get my lady out to see it, and also got the binoculars. It was bright white for about three minutes and then turned orange (pre-umbral eclipse?) for 10 seconds, and finally blacked out about 30 deg. south-east (total eclipse).

If you get a chance this season, you've got to check it out! Here is a site that will tell you when viewing will be best in your area, enjoy!

This is a great tool for finding what you'll be able to see in your area at night.

Saw both the shuttle and space station each night during a camping trip with the kids from my old dirtbike training program. I'm fairly desensitized to most things, but that gave me chills. It only took about 30 seconds to roll across the entire sky.

Bright light, like a star but moving. If you hold your hand up, it'll be moving at about the width of your hand each second--very scientific, I know.

+1 on the SpaceWeather site, which is how I verified that I done sawed what I thunk I had.
