There's a new bearing (superseded) for all XB/1125 wheels. E0004.02A8B front; E0005.02A8B rear. |

SKF - Perhaps the best bearings one can buy. http://www.skf.com/portal/skf/home/products?newlin k=first&lang=en |

Or you could get trick ceramic ones: http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.aspx?p=showsubca t&cat=crossref&pg=26 Lighter, stronger, faster, more expensive, but cool. |

Ceramic bearings..... More maintenance [must be lubed periodically], an issue with side-loads compared to conventional sealed bearings. OK for race use; probably not practical for street applications. |

Is your rider consistently in the top three and needs every tiny edge they can get? if so, perhaps. If they are are an also ran spend your $$$ in coaching and suspension set up. But they are cool... |

My bearings were shot at 4K miles. I replaced them with SKF. Bearings should not fail at 4K miles. Something is causing undue abuse and early failure. |

There are beaucoup threads on rear wheel bearings under Big, Bad, and Dirty (all the XB's use the same wheel bearings). There are lots of different theories for the cause. Buell stated that problem was contamination getting past the seals and into the bearings and the new bearings were supposedly developed to correct this. |

What company made these wheel-bearings? They should last allot longer than 4,000 miles. They sound like the bearings that Norton put in their transmissions from Portugal. |
