Kent, Their ain't no such animal as a '00 S1. If they are truly S1 parts then you need to find out if they are T storm or Lighting versions. If they're from a '00 bike then they are T storm parts. Good luck JT |

Grizzly, I was trying to find out if some bears are man eaters or if they attack only when they feel threatened or maybe just grumpy. Seems me good to know, if I might ever get the idea that I have to cross the USA on a bike with toothbrush, wallet and sleeping bag. Amidst a series of pictures(pbase.com)of fierce grizzly bears, suddenly your laughing face jumped out of the wood. Apparently the most dangerous species of all. Hans |

News item from Motor Cycle Industry magazine, January 2003: AMA THREATENED WITH EXPULSION FROM FIM The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has been threatened with expulsion from the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the worldwide motorcycle sanctioning bocy based in Geneva, Switzerland. In a letter to AMA President Rob Rasor, FIM President Francesco Zerbi threatened the AMA with expulsion in response to AMA Pro Racing's objection to allowing the FIM to impose its authority, rules and sanction on the 2003 AMA Supercross series. The AMA and AMA Pro Racing have sanctioned Supercross since 1974. Under the terms of a contract with Clear Channel Motorsports, the primary promoting organization for the series, AMA Pro Racing has the exclusive rights to sanction and manage the series. Neither the AMA nor the FIM is party to that contract. The FIM is of the opinion, though, that AMA Pro Racing must conduct Supercross events according to FIM rules and under the direction of an FIM official. Rasor commented, "The AMA has been a loyal, supportive member of the FIM for over 30 years and has always placed the interests of motorcycle sport among our highest priorities. We intend to continue in our role as the national federation representing American motorcyclists to the FIM." He added that the AMA would vigorously fight efforts to be expelled from the FIM. But Rasor made the AMA's stance on the Supercross matter clear: "The AMA agrees with AMA Pro Racing's position that the FIM lacks the authority to hijack AMA Supercross for its own interests, and we'll stand behind AMA Pro Racing's efforts to use all necessary means to protect AMA Supercross, the world's premier Supercross series, from unwaranted interference." ~*~*~ Does anybody have any first hand knowledge on this? Does the FIM sanction the Canadian or Austrailian national racing series, or are they sanctioned by national organizations similar to the AMA? In the absence of any other information, my suspicion is that the Supercross series isn't the only AMA racing series that may ultimately be in the FIM's crosshairs. Russ |

Dave! I bet that if they traded bikes, the same guy would win. From the description, it wasn't a comparison of bike speed, but a comparison of racing skill. Just my opinion, though. |

I call BS. I do not believe in any way that a Triumph speed triple can do 12.4 on one wheel. A Gixxer 1000 maybe but not a triple. |

Ara, That's old news. AMA Pro Racing sued Clear Channel and Clear Channel then backed away from giving FIM control of AMA Supercross. |

Ok people, this is for all Chevy guys, just changed the pads on my 1987 G10 Dayvan and thought I would repack the wheel bearings whilst the brake caliper was off. Undid the axle nut, removed the outer bearing but couldn't extract the disc carrier to access the inner bearing...it moved about 1/4 inch but wouldn't go any further. Do I just use more brute force or have I missed something here. Still haven't got round to getting a workshop manual...after 9 years!!!!! TIA, Oh, and ALL THE BEST FOR THE NEW YEAR!!!!!

Mark, Do you have to take out your axle? If so, most GM rear ends of that era have pins in the axle inside the pumpkin. |
