Edgydrifter, Try the SRT version of the caliber? 300hp makes it go pretty good. I took a ride on the test track with one of the guys that drove them out the door all day. I was impressed. |

thread jack back... check the date on those pubs. they killed the rooster back last summer, blame the AMA; I know I do. Now if they want to put a Rotax motor in a space aluminum frame with a focus on the trilogy of tech, then all the better. Bring on the bendy and dirty. |

Hey my buddy ate it bad on his KFX450, collapsed a lung and all that, so his old lady being angry and anti motorcycle used it to force him to take a few days in Ft Lauderdale, he will be back mid week and I will scan in the photo's of the buell dirtbike with the spec's from the mag in there. Sorry for the delay, but once you see it you will be pleased even after the wait. |

I used to really like takin' my 450 Maico to Croom and go rippin' the perimeter road...never rode anything more controllable while crossed up...before or since... |

Fast, I saw a guy up there a few months back on a Maico 490, it was to say the least beautiful, in perfect condition, but I think I only saw him get it started once, and never saw him hit the trails on it, mostly he just parked it next to his truck and sat in his gear in a chair and fiddled with it....anyway, I like mean areas of Croom, rolling the cockroach highway(we call four wheelers cockroaches) back in the back by the camp grounds it runs like 8 or 9 miles through the woods like a roller coaster all the way to the sand pit, love it, that place is deadly and I love for that element of danger.... |

Nice bike...bet that is fun...I haven't owned a dirtbike for many years now...LOL on the Maico not starting...between the Motoplat ignition and the Bing carb, it can be a nightmare...but when they run, they are killer. |

I did some nice off road work with a set of Pilot Road 2's. Barker and I went off road with my bike shod in a set of Metzler Race Tec K2's. It ain't the tires. "It ain't the arrow head on the arrow, it's the indian?" |

Fast, That's right, they were beastly and still are, the styling so was European, smooth lines really nice looking, my Uncle raced for Maico when I was a young lad, Bultaco as well, one year on a Penton ( I got that hand me down, my older brothers got the rest of them) and I must say I do love those old bikes, everytime I watch On Any Sunday and see CZ's, Maico's, Bultaco's, Puch, Husquavarna's and the ilk it just makes me wish riding was still like that, so free and open like when I was a kid, but it will never be that way again, too many fences and lawsuits....anyway, too bad you don't have a dirtbike you could come with and twist that throttle, I do know of a sweet McGrath addition 2004 KTM 450 SX with some really nice anodized parts and a fresh set of Pirelli sand tires for sale...in my garage in fact, it is on Craiglist....sure you don't want another dirt thrower???? |

A similar article can be found in the May issue of Motorcyclist (just arrived in my mailbox today). The headline reads: "Radical American motocross racer could still see the light of day" This just might get Cityslicker excited again!

I would have never thought that the "noisy" fan design is patented. Such a simple theory. No wonder other air cooled engines don't use one |

I read a few of the patents before, but one that caught my eye this time was for the Blast muffler, it is designed with that wedge shape in the front to act as a air scoop to direct air towards the engine. Some good stuff. |

I will road test that ALL winter vacation, with a goal to ride dirt in every state, come on Buell... Build it. In the words of Fox Mulder "I want to Believe" It still needs lights, plates, turn signals, I am not MXing the damn thing.... but I already have all those parts (Message edited by cityxslicker on April 03, 2009) |
