I am curious if anybody has experience with the Adventure pants from Buell. I have the Turbulent jacket and it seems as though the pants will zip together with the jacket. I checked my dealer, but they don't have em in stock.

If you do have em, or have seen em, are they heavy, rain resistant, warm, protective, and are they meant to be over-pants (like over jeans), or stand alone?

Thanks all, I hope I posted in the right place.

Turbulent Jacket Adventure Pants...

Sounds like the name of a Japanese Anime movie.

Sorry, I don't have anything constructive to add... They look cool tho!

yes, i have them. so far so good. kinda bulky in the knees but they block the wind very well. I mostly use them for chilly or "spirited" rides.

I use "buttless chaps" or Key/Carrhart coveralls.
Thanks Rob, I spewed beer out my nose.

I like them. They work real well and have great ventilation for when its warm.

Have not worn them in the rain or anything below 40 degrees.

I'm 5'8", 175 lbs and the large fits me very well (I ride a Ulysses). They are warm enough to use below 40 degrees, but probably wouldn't stay warm for long when its below freezing. They are flexible and comfortable, fit over jeans, and are not overly bulky.

Living in Seattle I definitely have rain experience with them. The big flaps used to cover the vents are zippered and velcro'd. They hold back heavy rain for about an hour, then the water starts creeping through the zippers and velcro.

If your going to spend much time in the rain I highly recommend upgrading to the buttless chaps and applying a heavy coat of wax to your cheeks. And don't forget extra UV protection for the tattoo just in case the sun comes out.

Hey Ron! Thanks a million! I think I'm gonna get em. Now I just need to find a dealer to try em on.

I'm planning a 2000mi trip in a few weeks from Houston to Boston and April weather can be a bear across the country this time of year.

I'm 6 foot 1, and the large is a little big. I would say they run quite a bit big to be honest. And I have rode In sub freezing weather with them and it's ok if u layer. They are great wind blockers.

I think I have the switchback top/bottom. All I can say is that I love it. It's textile, but for just daily street riding it's comfy, not to hot, good flex.

About the only thing I don't like... it's a little baggy. not too bad, but a tad.

I had them, they literally saved my ass in a bad wreck. Only thing I didn't like is that they aren't waterproof.

I'm sorry, I didn't know there was such a thing as adventure pants. I should probably get myself some adventure pants.

I bought the adventure jacket and love it..I had ordered the matching pants...when I went to pick them up...the pants were too long to fit a Zulu warrior..not a pygmy albino klingon like myself.

I got my pants last week. They are great. Good fit that can go over jeans. We were out riding in low 60's temps and never had a single problem with being cold. I recommend them highly.

The occasional cold weather is a small price to pay for the excellent NY roads. It also comes in handy when you travel to Georgia and your sitting on a patio eating dinner in a teeshirt when its 42 degrees, and all the local Buellers are in parkas : )

Man, that means that I have to go 400 miles North and turn Right to get to the "South"...

I guess that means I'm in the "Deep South".

No, wait. That's still 300 miles North from here.....

<grin>

" "You guys mean it gets below 60 degrees where you live? " " Sorry guys, but we're expecting cold rain and snow for the next four days. Melting snow this weekend. Anyways I've also wondered if these pants were a good "investment." I should start a new thread about boots but, since we are talking about clothing, does anyone know about a good protected but, relaxed pair of riding boots?
