Yep I've been really patient, almost gave up and got rid of it. Some of you may remember 2 years ago, my 03 xb9r sheared off the pinion shaft while riding.
Well its taken me two years but it now has a 06 xb12 in it, micron exhuast, 9 primary, I polished and painted it before the blowup. Al pushed his custom map in it yesterday, and so far it runs great...(Thanks Al). I replaced the rings in the motor and honed out the cylinders before I put it in. So I'm going to take it easy until it breaks in, also its gonna take some getting used to that 9 primary in the 12, im not used to doing 4000 rpm and only doing 70mph in fifth. I definatly was a fun built, alota allnighters, and almost getting divorced.

Dooley, WAY TO GO MAN!! That's a long wait, I know! I've been ignoring my wrecked M2 for almost that long. I've been able to ride our XB and Blast, but now my XB is down with a noise too, so I've been motivated to get it back together. I fired it up for the first time since April 07 last night. Some electrical issues and a detail or two are all that's between me and that ride. I'm glad you got yours going, I'm even more anxious now than I was. Rotzaruck! |

Also I replaced the rings, and honed out the cylinders, they still looked real good with 10k on the motor but, i thought since I had to replac the heads I did the rings too, Any sugestions on breaking them in, I think I did ok with the initial start up and let it idle at 2k for a good while, been cruzing it at 3-4k trying to keep it under 70 and under 4k but its soooooo hard. How many miles should I baby the rpm's for? |

Got more pics, after I took it for some rides....Its still cold here in the mornings, but I toughed it out and rode it to work one morning, had to stop halfway to stick my hands near the header to get the feeling back in my fingers. I think I'll wait a few more weeks before doing that again....Did a wheelie the other day...it felt so good...just a little rusty in the corners still...gotta get my confidence back and trust my bike more.....
