Coming from a 2007 VRSCDX(VROD) this lean a$$ Rotax motor is pissing me off. I like the bike but this fuel setup ruins it for me. Has anyone ever heard the fuel pump continue to cycle(prime) after the bike is off and the key is out of the ignition ? |

The fuel pump running after key off is a normal part of the bikes' operation. I believe the latest software keeps the pressure up in the rail for 5 minutes after key off, this keeps the fuel from boiling in the lines and vapor locking the bike. |

does anyone have a video or audio clip of the fuel pump running? i dont think i have ever heard mine (im thinking of a gm fuel pump whine when i listen for it) - the only thing that i hear are the fans after i turn the bike off, but even when i turn the ignition on i only hear a "swiiiish-swoooosh" - thats it -09 1125CR |

The swish sound you here is it. If you hear the GM truck sound id say you have some cause for concern. If you hang around the bike for a few minutes after shut down you will hear it run for a second and a half or so every once in a while. Mine does it every 15 seconds like clockwork which makes me think i have some sort of leakdown issue... Theres no spec in the service manual for a normal interval though so i just live with it. |

thanks skyler - i do hear the initial swoosh but never after i shut her down - and the gm thing is common on older models but very noticeable - actually went through the diag mode on the bike for the first time tonight - pretty cool |
