Just picked up another XB the other day. Its an 03 Lightning with 15.5K miles. It has a K&N and Wiley Co exhaust already. I need to check to see if it has a Race ECM, but I doubt it. I changed the oil/filter, primary fluid, plugs, re-routed breathers, cut the intake tube down today. A few things I noticed. The primary fluid was milky, so I need to check the trans vent and clutch cable. Also, the bike still runs crappy under 3K. I am going to replace the intake manifold seals, and then do the TPS reset. You need at a minimum a race map. I would reset the AFV and the TPS also. I am sure the AFV is way off, which will hurt performance. water usually travels down the clutch cable to the primary case. Check the rubber at the adjuster, water likes that spot when riding in the rain. Umm...Cut the intake tube down????...Why? Are your seals even leaking??? BUT, mine is TOMORROW morning... bike went back together tonight, minus the front fender(might run it like that for a while, kinda like the look)..... MIGHT need a TPS reset though... I didn't have the water problem on my other Buells, because I was the original owner and zip tied the boot. I cut the rubber intake duct that necks down to nothing. I cut it so there is enough to still seal it to the intake duct in the frame.
