i have signed up for my first trackday of the year on april 15th. i have another set of rims i was planning on throwing some tires on just for that purpose this season. problem is i still need to get the front rotor mounting hardware(have a spare rotor), and rear mounting hardware for the rotor(i have to do more scrounging but i thought for sure i had an extra rear rotor somewhere lol). i also need a rear pulley and the mounting bolts for that. i got to thinking maybe one of the racers or someone that is changing their's to a chain conversion might have a rear pulley for an R laying around they wanted to part with. yes i know i work at a dealer, but that thing isnt cheap at all and with all the hardware i need also, i thought maybe i could get a good deal on a used one from someone who no longer needs it. figured i'd give it a shot here since ive only got a couple weeks to figure out what im going to do. if not, i will just throw some new shoes on the stock rims again and run it that way. just was hoping not to since the tires on them have some street life left, i just doubt they would pass tech for a long day at the track. | ||

tim, i was swapping the pulley from the street rim to the track rim and back after the track day was over until i found another pulley on ebay. if you have an xb rear rotor you will need to enlarge the holes for the caliper removal and installation. i'm looking for a takeoff belt from the same racer chain drive guys. have fun, tim | ||

im confused on what you mean by this. if you have an xb rear rotor you will need to enlarge the holes for the caliper removal and installation i have to enlarge some holes on the caliper? was swapping the pulley from the street rim to the track rim and back after the track day was over i thought about doing that also. just didnt know if i liked the idea of reusing my rotor bolts over and over. | ||

Tim, Tim is referring to the disc's access holes. Agreed, probably not a great idea, on/off a lot. Z | ||

so if im understanding right, you are talking about the 3 bigger holes in the actual braking area of the newer rotors. where the older xb rotors dont have that. if that is the case, im not sure why i would have to enlarge those holes on an old style rotor. i assume they must be for undoing the caliper when the wheel is still on? i have never had my rear caliper off and im close to needing my 4th set of tires. so if the reason is to take the caliper off before you remove the wheel then i wont worry about it. but i may still be miss understanding. | ||

FSM says pull the caliper prior to wheel removal. The 2 bolts come out quick on the caliper, then the wheel comes out real easy. I pull mine first, I have enough dings in my amber wheels as it is. I'm still trying to get up the nerve to try rolling the belt onto the rear pulley like you said..  Z | ||

it probably would wiggle out of there a bit easier without the caliper on i do suppose. although its not a complete pain. as for the belt deal, i have yet to try that on the 1125 but i havent broken a belt on it yet lmao. it sure works slick in a pinch on the xb's though. although having no belt guards is a definate help also. atleast on the 03 xb's that had the pain in the butt to remove guards. i would think it would work ok on an 1125 just as well though from what i see. | ||

I promise the belt rolls on the rear just fine. Trick is to get it all the way around, then mallet it flush. | ||

on the xb's i can usually just spin the wheel or push the bike and have it roll on the sprocket for the most part. maybe a few taps with the palm of my hand helps it along if needed. what do you have to lose zac, it is a test belt isnt it?! | ||

I think I'll try it when the test belt snaps. The belt I have under the seat now is a little stretched, so it will go on even easier that way. Should save me 10 minutes of cussing... Sounds like you're set - have fun Z | ||
