Welcome Glenna, and what a *great* area to ride a blast around! When you are ready for a long trip, you'll have to run up to Rabbit Hash on a sunny Saturday to people watch... It's a nice ride and an entertaining destination... |

Welcome Kev. Glad to see you are enjoying the bike. Bad news for you, I don't recommend a larger oil cooler, the stock system might not be able to handle it. The 2008 and newer models have a larger cooler, but the entire oiling system is different. |

Hey, we are a new Buell dealer on the central coast of California, about an hour north of Santa Barbara. We are also about an hour south of Big Sur, so it's really fantastic year around riding on some of the best bike roads in the world. Our campaign with the Motor Company began 2 years ago as we sought the franchise. It took a lot of work, countless discussions and some backroom politicing to get'r done. But we did, and now have a nice selection of 1200's and 1125's on the floor (In their own special boutique showroom). My commitment to the brand began a few years ago as I met Jon Flikenger (President & CEO Buell) in Milwaukee. I was asking him if there would ever be a time that Buell would adopt a new motor...maybe water cooled like the Company did with the V-Rod. Well, I was told absolutely not!...as the door closed quickly on that subject. I didn't really believe him. And he knew it. We sort've became friends - bonded - ever since. Jon really helped us with getting the brand here. He's a great guy and rides really well. When I met the Buell team, I was very impressed. They also extracted a promise from me to purchase a Buell, soon. But I didn't. Time and situations passed and now I'm the GM at a terrific H-D/Buell dealership. I recently went to a H-D Back To The Track event at the Las Vegas Speedway. That's two days on Harleys and their competition, and two days on Buells and their competition...on the racetrack with real race instructors. I don't want to bore you with the details, except to say that I didn't want to get off the 1125's! You can read about it on our my space blog. (www.myspace.com/santamariaharley) The bikes are exceptional. I'm selling my Duc 999 that I have been using for a track bike, and switching to the Buell 1125R. The main reason is that I am more confident on it....and with that comes more speed with lower track times. So, we are looking to have a good ride with the Buell's and hope that we can attract/build a good Buell riding community here, in our little piece of heaven. |

Are you telling us that you are a GM of a dealership that "gets it"? Don't say no, if it's no. I want to enjoy the refreshing feeling for a while. Either way, WELCOME to the best Buell site on the www! I look forward to reading your posts. |

Thanks for the welcome. We're glad to be here. We've worked so hard to make it happen. Buell riders are a great bunch and it's refreshing to see them begin to respond to what we have to offer. Yeah, I hope we "get it." Bikes are like wine, women and song....a variety makes for an interesting life. Check out our web site www.santamariaharley.com and get to know us. If you're ever in the area, I hope you can drop in for some fresh coffee and/or for a wildly exaggerated story or two. We are on the 101, just off the Broadway exit in Santa Maria. Easy to find. If you're not familiar with the area, we'll be sure to point out a few fine roads to carve. Also, if you plan on staying overnight in our area, we have a sweet deal with the Holiday Inn next door. Just mention it and we'll hook you up. |

Hey, I'm Josh in Fallon, NV. About a year ago I bought my first bike(XB12R). I love this thing. Can't believe I waited this long. Just wanted to say thanks for all the info I've been able to find here. I think it's funny, all the other forums that include Buells reference BadWeB. |

Greetings Just picked up my STT Sat 3/14. Left-over 07. Pulled the faux number plates and presto, a Lightning. Anyone interested in a VFR800i, gear-driven cams and all? Anyway, the STT is phenomenal, the back roads here in central PA are in for a scare. I know this is the honeymoon period, but damn, I'm in love!!! |

>>>Anyway, the STT is phenomenal Welcome and that is a very accurate statement. The STT is a bike that was the unfortunate victim of a bobbled media effort and never received the acclaim the bike warranted. You'll have a ball on the thing . . .enjoy and ride safe! Court |

Amen to that. I personally think the seat, passenger pegs, and plastics from an 05 XB9SX, swapped to and STT, would be the best lightning to ever come from the factory. |

Hi All! After much research, penny pinching and asking specific questions on other spots on this board, I came home yesterday with my new 08 XB12X. I've wanted one since 2006 in Baracade Orange... and that's what I got. I'm really pumped! In this economy I probably shouldn't have, but I did anyway. My little stimulus to the economy, I guess. I won't be posting much... I'll be riding! |

Welcome everyone! Calimari - thanks for your service! Froggy - I love your bike...I keep telling M2nc that if I got a bike, I want yours. Of course, my feet would probably dangle...wonder what you could do to a Blast. |

Kristi its way too low with the SS suspension, I flat foot it and have some extra legroom to spare. My favorite thing on the old Uly was that on the highway I didn't use the pegs, I would just dangle my feet and they would never touch the ground unless I hit a pothole. The STT and XT suspensions have been on my list of mods to do to it. I need to try the 06 seat too, I still might be able to reach the ground with that monster! I swear the seat height on this thing is only about 27". |

Hi All, I've ridden motorcycles most of my 44 years but I have to say my new 09 Barricade Orange Ulysses XB12X is one sweet ride. I really love this bike. For the past several years I've been riding a Kawasaki KLR 650 and a Kawasaki Z750S, but the XB12X is the best of both worlds. I've already put a couple of thousand miles on it and have only had it a very short time. Great board with tons of useful information and passionate riders. I'm glad to be a noob and part of the Buell community. I was all set to purchase an 09 BMW R1200GS, then I saw the Ulysses and after test riding them both it was no contest, for me the XB12X rides like a dream and instantly won me over. Semper Fi |

Hey Chewy- Welcome! Congrats on the new bike! Those po-po ("po-lysses") cases are awesome. When I add the Blue XB12XT to the stable, that's what I'll be gettin'. Have fun, ride safe. BeLinda. |

Welcome aboard Rick and we're glad to have you here. The Ulysses is a hoot and you'll get fond memories of the great view from the KLR. I ride mine in New York City and the visibility is dandy. I've also got those same bags and I'll bet you'll really enjoy them. Semper Fi, Court P.S. - there are a big bunch of Marine types around here as well! |

The bags are very handy and I like that they are waterproof and don't protrude too wide. It seems if there is rain around I have an uncanny knack of finding it. Now, I just pull over, take out my rain great and keep riding. I'm glad to see we have alot of Vets around here. Thanks for welcoming me everyone. Semper Fi |

Been a rider forever! Stepped over to the dark side a couple years ago with the 2007 V-Orange XB12S - been loving it ever since! Looking to start into the mod thing. Pipe, blinkers, mirrors and tail section for starters. Any suggestions appreciated!

First post here. I recently purchased a used Blast! that needs some work. I figured this was the place to be. I have owned numerous bikes in my 15+ years of riding. This is my first thumper & American made bike. My main ride is a 2007 Moto Guzzi Griso. I live in Corpus Christi, TX and get to ride year round. Sadly, the landscape doesn't have too many curves.
