Looking for a stock muffler for my S2. Let me know if you have one you're trying to get rid of (or know of one someone else is trying to get rid of). Thanks in advance. BJack |

If you still need one I may have something for you. Refresh my memory but the X-1 and S-2 have the same size collector right? If so I have a brand new take off X-1 muffler from a bike I got a few years back. PM or call me at 512-665-3092. |

Blazin, if that doesn't work out with Bjack, shoot me a PM with what you might want for it shipped. |

I don't think the X1 and S2 use the same muffler. The S2 would most likely be the sames as a '96 S1. The X1 would be like a S3, or M2 of same year. |

Here's a couple of photos of a stock S2 exhaust. Inlet is on the left.
This is showing the outlet end.

You bet! That one I picked up from Topeka H-D. I ordered the newer tuber mounting hardware (forward upside down "Y" bracket and the rear "Z" bracket) and plan to get it on the bike here soon. Maybe this weekend with the predicted snow this weekend in our neighborhood. |

99% sure the one I have is the same set up, inlet & outlet on the left. I can get some pics tomorrow if you're still interested Bjack. |

S2 mufflers will fit ONLY S2s and vice-versa. The S2 header has a 2" collector, but the collector is located directly in front of the muffler on the left side of the bike like the Race header. ALL other stock tuber headers post-'95 had the collector in front of the motor with the muffler having an elbow on it to clamp to the header. Last I talked to Dan, he was selling his dirt cheap. Did you call him? |

Phelan is right, X-1 is 2.5 after measuring both the header and muffler to be sure. I guess it's the S-3 and X-1 that have the same diameter? BTW the dent in the pic I thought was a part of it seeing as how there's no scratch, flaking or evidence that it had been hit. After seeing Gowindwards pic his dent is in a different spot and I don't remember if my S-1 had one or not.

The "dent" is for clearance to the drain plug on the primary gear case. |

That's what I was thinking , but wasn't 100% sure. So ,one perfect muffler on the bidding block. |
