Author Message   Barker Posted on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 - 06:46 pm:        I assume this is an electrical problem. Tach and engine cut out on/off when riding. It runs for a few seconds then cuts out. Pops/bangs when it fires back up. Idle is solid and runs fine there. When it is running it is smooth then it just cuts out. I thought it was the batt, but the lights never dim and the speedo still works. When I hit the kill switch and/or turn the key off it still runs poorly just as it would with those on. I double checked the batt and cables. Any ideas? 03 XB9R 30K   Etennuly Posted on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 - 07:20 pm:        Sounds like major ground problems. Don't just look at the grounds, take them off and clean them with sand paper. Star washers and dielectric grease is good to. There is a thing about the rear seat rail mounts needing to be removed, sanded where they fit and reinstalled.   Barker Posted on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 - 08:20 pm:        I just re-snugged the batt cables w/ some di-electric grease and she is now running fine.
