A lot of guys are into motorcycles for the speed, the sound, the chicks, the excitement. But for me, the main thing is treading lightly on the planet and saving the biosphere.
Tripping lightly through the Gap. I guess most guys on this board feel the same. Am I right, oh my brothers? |

It's not a car. You meet the nicest people (even if they are not on a Honda) riding them. They are just plain more fun... |

That it is a Harley-Davidson product, or an "Airhead". You'll have parts available for a lifetime. |

Go where cars are no fun. At my age it is the journey not the destination, much less how fast I get there. Never mentioned side benefit of scooters, you can smell where you are. |

For me the best part is no comments on my driving! Not true...And as I look back on it I'm happy I did it...Instead of hearing it from her mouth, about 9 years ago I got hit in the back of the helmet for a wheelie when the Ex-wife...then wife, was not ready for it. LOL I would do it all over again but maybe hold the wheelie a little longer!!! |

sitting in here in korea not being able to ride it...oh wait thats a bad thing. well, at least i'm really saving the biosphere by not riding at all...oh wait i'm in the air force. that burns millions of gallons of jet fuel weekly, not saving the environment. what was this thread about again?... |

The first thing I noticed when I started riding, and it's still with me, is how in-tune my senses become to the world outside. Everything smells more, is brighter, is louder....sometimes I see my shadow while riding and say to myself..."wow, that's me, I'm a lucky bastard". I never see myself without a bike. |

trying to tread lightly, and failing miserably at it. The best thing? You are out of cell phone range.... The worst thing? When it gets over your head, you are out of cell phone range.

Its the poor mans super car! Name one $500k+ super car that can match a Motorcycles power to weight ratio? (and all for well under $15k!) Oh, and women love a man on a good looking bike! |

I appreciate the fact that as a recreational sport, it could actually kill you. This component of the sport distills your mind and your senses. I like the pure focus required to ride at sporting levels. There is no job, or politics, or money, or family problems. There is only the next left turn, the next right turn, the next hairpin. |
