I went to Bumpus yesterday and rode a XT. Now I'm screwed. Yeah, curiosity got the better of me. I was always interested in a Uly but the height was a definite no-go for my 29" inseam. This was the first time I've ever seen an XT in person. Man that thing rides well. I think I've read every XT related thread on this site an I can honestly say now that it's not hype. I've ridden many different types/brands of motorcycle. My personal XB9 is the only buell I've ever ridden. That was enough to convince me that buells kick ass. Until yesterday I was convinced that I would always have a XB in the stable. That 1203 engine is awesome! That XT suspension is incredible! With a 2" bar riser, I could ride that thing forever. I will have one. Yes. I will have one. Thanks Tom, Ryan and the Demo group. You've hooked me on crack. |

Mike, I rode an XT for the first time last Thursday night. For me, the XB12XT is the holy grail of motorcycles. It's even hard to express just how fine that bike is. I think 12 grand is a cheap price for a permagrin that big. I'm pulling the pin on one the minute my divorce is final. (Message edited by Zane on March 22, 2009) |

Face it . . you are in the "color selection" phase. |

Good folks at Bumpus, huh? I can honestly say that the X/XT line is one of the best, most versatile, bikes around. They simply do everything well. PS. Remember, the color selection is UNLIMITED. Valencia Orange Translucid? Hero Blue? Ash? You can have it any way you want it. |

Ha, yeah. I'm in the color selection phase. So here's my real problem. I'm deploying at the end of the year and should be back late 2010. I think it will be a financial mistake to buy before I go. Thus I'm gonna have almost 2 years of unrequited lust. B.A.S. (bike acquisition syndrome) sucks. Anybody wanna trade an '81 ironhead with a cracked piston for an XT? Anyone? |

The good news is that you'll have two new model years to add to the decision making process. Maybe there will be an 1125XT by then. |

I'd wait... you'll use up the factory warranty with the bike collecting dust while you're deployed. Doesn't make much sense. Plus, they may be a liquid cooled one in the future, who knows? |

What thumper said... and over that time period you could set up a "pre-payment" plan for yourself, and buy with cash, all the while collecting your own interest on your own money! |

+1 to Ratyson. I rode mine and signed on the line. My wife said she had never seen me so giddy and with such a big smile. Have loved every minute of the bike since and she has too. Be safe over there |

Yeah, that's the plan. Waiting till I get back. Waiting. Saving some tax free dough. And waiting. Sorry thumper, I'm not really interested in a 1125XT. I liked the 12. Waiting. Maybe the upcoming inflation boom won't have hit by the time I get back. Waiting. Did I mention I'm gonna wait? Keep the shiny side up! |
