A japanese bike may not be the most street friendly thing out there but from what I have heard the 675 is a very aggressive bike...
Now the Street Triple (R) or Speed Triple would be much more street friendly and comfortable.
And to the OP... Between those three I'd say go with the GSX-R750. Power of a liter bike, handling of a 600.
But what experience do you have with bikes? You say you want to get BACK so I assume you have ridden before...
But even my 2005 Yamaha R6 BLOWS the Buell XB12's out of the water in terms of performance... a 750 or liter bike I4 is just rediculous, its to much for the street. Unless your idea of fun is triple digits on the highway (no problem if it is...), its just not as fun as a less powerful (but still OUTRAGEROUSLY powerful compared to even the sportiest cars) 600 or a big twin.
But yeah there you have it, between those bikes I'd get the middle weight, IMHO a liter bike is pointless on the street. Never ridden one but almost cant see why you'd want as much power as the 600 has...
Also what was it about the handle bars you didnt like? I have never ridden a bike aggressively with bars but am excited to go from the R6's clip ons to the XB12Ss' bars as I think having more leverage will be sweet on the really tight roads I ride as well as more comfortable.
Worst case if I need more lean like the R6 I can just get dirt bike bars, still more comfort and leverage but sportier.
JRaice thank you for a very reasonable response. Yes I have experience on jap bikes, my previous bike was a CBR600rr and I have been on everything from a Nighttrain to a CBR1000rr. I wish i could get a 600 namely for handling and insurance but they have no torque i dont wanna be screaming everywhere just to be in their powerband. Thats why it was either the 750 or the 1000. I am leaning towards the 750 because im very weary of a 1000 that has over 150rwhp and tops out at 180+ mph. I am 21, and, all my friends are my age, and we are dumb and im worried that if i have a bike that goes 180ish id try it....at least I am aware of my own stupidity so maybe the 750 is the way to go.
Slaughter, what kind of bike is that? Tommy get a 2007 XB9sx j/k I just read an article compairing a r6, gixxer, and cbr (600cc) The end came to the r6 was an awsome track bike, but not great for the street, The gixxer great for the street, the cbr in the middle. That's not me talking just the review I read the other day. Hope you find a bike you love!
Tommy, for having owned a 97 gixxer 750 before I can tell you it's a great bike but even if it got power the torque was not that great, thats why I always wanted a liter bike after that but I tried a buell the old X1 and got hooked for the torque and now that I have tried many liter bikes before and after buying my 09 Scg (I'm a demo day lol) I still don't think I would want a liter bike now because I have all the torque I want. On an other end I would maybe get a superduke990 or the new duc streetfighter.
My friend Christian just got one of these KTM 690 SMR supermoto's and it is pure fun and very fast.
Weighing a hundred pounds less than a Buell, and with a superb built quality, it is pretty hard to keep up with in the twisties, and just great to ride.
+1 on the RC51. I love those bikes. They are supposed to be incredible uncomfortable though. I'd take a long look at the Triumph Speed Triple. Great reviews all around. Incredible Engine and looks mean too.
Hmmm the RC-51 is a GREAT choice but i can't find one nearby for a decent price w/ low mileage. They are all 13k miles+. As far as the Triump Daytona 995...its a little too outdated for me. Ah if only i had more money!! Anyone wanna give me an 1125R for 6k? hahaha
the RC-51 IS a "nut- cruncher" ! hard on the brakes, sliding forward on the seat and the family jewels collide with the gas tank .(BUELL seats are much more jewel friendly)
Speed Triple, those things are hoot to ride and if you get the all black it's even better looking. Please don't ride one unless you're willing to buy because they're addicting and I really like the RC8, just don't like the price........
+1, Jerseyguy, I will have one of these as soon as they make it to the US! MV Agusta Brutale 1078RR.
I have ALWAYS admired this bike!!! My concern is that after paying MSRP, I would not ride the bike if there was even a single cloud in the sky. (joking)
