Well if I cannot figure out my surging issue I might not be able to attend friday. I rode the bike to work today and after 4k the bike produces zero power. Im going to tinker tonight and probably take thursday off to work on it. |

I'm trying to think about what it could be, have you checked the knowledge vault to see if there's any info in there? Don't supposed you've had the TPS reset anytime recently? How many miles on it? If it's at 8k miles or better, I'd put some good plugs in it. How about the air filter? It sounds like a familiar problem but I can't put my finger on it (maybe cause I've drank a few green beers)........ Any ideas Sam? |

I start every engine troubleshooting session with a TPS reset. I have been lucky so far and this has fixed all of my issues (surging, sputtering, rough idle, etc...). |

Was having this issue last year before putting in the garage for the winter. At that time I did the TPS via ECM spy and that resolved the issue for like half a day. When the issue came back and I tried the TPS it was a no go. Before starting it for the first time in like a couple months yesterday I put in new plugs, wires and air filter. I currently have SUSE installed on my laptop so im reloading at the moment to windows so I can get ECM spy back in the works. Hopefully that will complete in the next few hours (stupid windows) so I can reset the TPS. I also have a new O2 sensor but I have not put that on. Can the TPS sensor go bad? If so is it common? |

B.J. If you get the bike back, with no fuse box covers. Put gallon size plastic bags over them and zip tie them on. The area is pretty well protected already even in a down pour. |

And riding with duff at night means that we will have a signal for planes to find us if we get lost. |

Man, sure wish I was riding my bike to Joplin tomorrow. Depending on how work goes tomorrow, I may drive the truck up in the afternoon (from Tulsa). For the ones riding, have a good trip and we may see you there! |
