Huckins said the bird died as a result of the accident. Johnston took possession of the turkey that took out his friend. Freakin' turkeys are big! I'd hate to hit one at any speed. I hope they cook that bird and have an enjoyable meal. |

In SE WI, I have to watch for them all the time. Ever seen a wild turkey fly? Looks like a bowling ball with wings. But they fly very gracefully. Saw one for the first time a few years ago. I thought I was goin ! Large birds hurt! Try not to hit em! |

I had a Turkey swoop down a hill in front of my path a few years back. After the initial shock, and when I realized that we were not on a collision course, I just enjoyed the event. I don't think that they actually "fly", but rather glide from higher ground. Here is my best turkey pic to date:

Wild turkeys are powerful flyers....and the wild turkey would be our national bird if Ben Franklin had his way... |

I absolutely love turkeys. When they are injected with marinade and deep fried in peanut oil. Not so much in any kind of moving vehicle |
