That's what I was referring to, but I thought Dyna would reply first. I don't think the Hoban guy is aware of "the rest of the story". But I do think it was Dyna (or maybe it was Mike, a different Mike, the Mike who won Battletrax Mike, or maybe a different Mike still, or else it was someone else maybe) that was going to wear their HobanBrothers t-shirt to the recent TeamElves gathering at Ukes. Just seemed like the whole world suddenly merged into itself up a few posts. Oh well, maybe the moment's lost, unless they've got an email session going on right now. |

I have heard various tid-bits of this story, I believe it was hashed out quite a bit throughout summer?, but I had other things goin on and do not have extra time to visit this fine board that time of year, sorry about that. But as my grandfather used to say on the farm, "you gotta make hay when the sun shines" I figured that was where Dyna was going with that, but you know the other old saying, "if you 're going to play- you gotta pay" Hey, where do you guys find those goofy little heads to put a grinnen face behind that one? Anyways, Dyna (I believe this is same one from lower WI?) had stopped up earlier this year and I wanted to remind him we were still here. Gotta go, a paying customer just walked in! |

That was me. And the whole sordid tale actually came out after the Brag meet in sept at the Dragon. Thats when the damn thing took its final breath & died. Still working towards an end. Just gotta wait & see. I definately know if the Hobans built the engine it wouldnt be breaking anymore tho. |

Roger, you had your little mishap june 8th. That was the lakefront event. The next one you showed up with that weird naked S3 look. I dont recall if you ordered it right away or not. I know you tried the ebay deal & ended up with the wrong part. |

i figured as much,as i have posted, it was the dealers fault, not Buell, so what has all this proven, that some dealers are bad, and others are good, everything i have posted in the past seems to be true, and later on i will take my business elseware, BUT this does put Buell in a bad light, and it was no fault of there own, i will say it again, there needs to be some punishment to poor dealers, granted maybe they forgot to order the part the first time, but i did stop by over a month ago ang gave them another chance, and still no order placed, So now what Court, you have all the info, and have now managed to tell me some thing i allready knew, what was the point???? if its to say its NOT buells fault, that has allready been said. if it was to prove buell wrong, then you are incorrect, i feel at no point in time was it buells fault So then why the need to know, prove me wrong, well next time i see you i can show you the credit card statement with the credit from the dealer(because it sounds like you are calling me a lier, why i dont know) maybe you could let me know, some times i am slow Roger |

Roger said: Crash, order part, wait several months, stop at buell open house, get an explination as to the delay, AND and expected date, along with a date the part should be at the dealer, 3 months pass and i stop by the dealer, and am told Buell cancelled the order(bull shit), stop by a month later and cancell the order myself and am told" Well buell is kinda slow with its orders"(bull shit) I've a few questions, asked for two reasons. One to see if we can get Roger his part. And to illustrate that Roger's blame was misplaced. I'll try to be direct and concise. order part - There was NEVER an order placed. Yell and scream at me all you want. I stand by that answer. wait several months - This was Roger's fault, he should have (remember that "nice and polite" talk we had last week, been on the phone bugging them, not waiting "several months" stop at buell open house - Buell has NOTHING (read this again and say it out loud NOTHING) to do with Parts and Accessories. You are dealing with another company that has a contract with Buell to SHIP parts from bikes in CURRENT production. Roger's bike, of course is a 1998, the instant situation occured in 2002. get an explination as to the delay - be interesting to hear and about as valid as my explaining to MSNBC the situation in the Middle East....best guess at BEST. expected date, along with a date the part should be at the dealer - I'd love to have heard this answer. I'd have "nice and polite" asked to see the order. Buell cancelled the order(bull shit)- I agree it's "bullshit". Someone for saying it and you for beleiving it. Trust me, you have more power to change the orbit of the Space Shuttle than Buell does to "cancelled the order". Well buell is kinda slow with its orders"(bull shit) - Again, you've stolen the word I wanted and that's BULLSHIT. Buell USED to be slow as hell. It was during this time that your old buddy Court was raising hell, organizing groups of people to quietly order parts and track the delivery time to shove "real" info up Buell's nose and screamin' my lungs out. Buell has done a MIRACULOUS job of improving. Done?...I don't think so, but it's darn tough to blame Buell anymore. Bottom line is, I'd suggest you ORDER the part and see how long it takes. Court |

Court, you either need glasses or you need a leason in reading, because at no time have i ever blamed Buell, go back and reread all my posts, and you will see a patern, that being that i Know it was te dealers fault, i have said it about 3 times in this thread alone, as a matter of fact i have never been upset by the issue at all, just a statement of fact and to point out that the dealers are the front line for the company and if they dont shape up, and do there jobs, the parent company looks bad, if i am wrong please tell me so, and the other fact is that you were never draged into this, you Asked for info, now you back down, amazing, the only thing that has made me upset is you inabilty to read, and misdirected inabilty to help, something i never ask for I was drug here against my will.= bullshit I've grown weary of everyone taking as gospel everything anyone says on the internet. = Again it sounds like you are calling me a liar Allways the customers fault, just as i figured |

Sounds like a problem at the dealer level, if the service was bad then go to another dealer. I have had nothing but good service from the Buell dealer where I bought my S1 and the local Harley dealer. Remember that there is not Buell Dealer for approx 1500 road kilometers and a 6hr boat ride just to get off this island. Whenever I needed parts (and not very many), I have always provided my local Harley dealer with the part numbers and a week later I have had the parts in my possession. I think the longest I have had to wait is 2 weeks for the seat bolt as the original vibrated loose. Hell, when I picked up my S1 on a Thursday Morning from the dealer in Halifax, NS, they told me the battery was not the best and they were going to re-place under warranty. I had to get back home so I couldn't wait any longer before I left, I took the bike with the weak battery and it never let me down. That following Monday I received by courier the battery and the service manual (both of which were not in stock). I really can't say anything bad about the parts supply from the people I deal with. Try to order the parts from a better dealer who is more in tune with the Buell Experience. I am sure there are dealers who participate on this board that can help. If you still need the parts let me know and I can give you the name and contact of the people I deal with here in Canada. |

Hey how about another topic-- Court, I've followed various threads, discussions over the past four-and-a-half months and have to admit that you've often cooled my fire of ire regarding the many difficulties I've experienced with my 2000 X1. But the fact remains that I have had a lot of mechanical difficulties with my X1--leaking gaskets, fractured exhausts, failed charging and regulating components, poor dealer service, etc, etc--all this in just four-plus months of ownership. If I hadn't fallen completely in love with my machine I would have invoked the lemon law and hoped for better luck with a different machine of the same ilk. Since you seem to be well-connected to the Buell factory, is there any chance you could forward this input to them in a kind and respectful manner? The VIN on my Millenium is 4MZSS81J5Y3225612. I purchased the bike used with a 3-year unlimited mile warranty from Harley Davidson Buell of Fort Lauderdale (954) 522-7368. If you'd do this--perhaps they would exert some pressure on this dealership to do the right thing by their otherwise loyal customers. I'd like to add that most if not all of my difficulties stem from the ignorance and lack of honesty of those involved in selling and maintaining Buell products at this dealership. I started off excited (and naive) at the prospect of finally owning a machine that would receive expert service under warranty, and have ended up becoming an erstwhile Buell mechanic (jaded and suspicious) avoiding contact with these so-called experts. Thanks for keeping the faith (and restoring perspective to a frustrated Buell-aphile). I have yet to receive the "New-Owner Experience" or whatever. Ever since I saw/heard my first Buell (an S1 I believe) I've been working and saving toward the day I would own one--now that I finally have done so It has been a mixed bag of fantstic riding experiences/terrible reliability and service issues... |

Court... In reference to your post on 12-14-02, I posted the following question which remains unanswered. It would be greatly appreciated if you would address this issue and include information concerning the status of Buell 1200 motors and parts for same. The reason for the request is todays post on the General Discussion thread concerning Buell 1200 motors no longer being available. Thank you in advance for your cooperation regarding this matter. Best regards, Nevco1 Saturday, December 14, 2002 - 04:40 pm . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Court, It would be greatly appreciated if you would clarify the following statement in reference to discontinued models. Court... Just a note to let you know that I am not trying to bust your stones with the question listed above. I am merely looking for direction that will save us mere mortals time and frustration should the need for parts or whole assemblies arise. In essence, if only current model parts are available then rather than wasting time, etc with the dealers, perhaps it would be to our best advantage to head directly to an independent engine builder or fabricator. Again, thank you for any information that you can provide. Even if that includes referring us to someone else for clarification. Happy Holidays, Bill |

Bill some people bought extended warrantys up to 7 years, whats Buell going to do? I'm quite sure parts will be avalible for us for a period of time.Usually when a company stops production of a car, cycle, truck, etc, etc, etc they have to be able to have parts to fix,and warranty the customers transportation for an X amount years. I dont know Bill, Court is being strangely silent on that matter for some reason. Dana, try telling the folks who bought Excelsiors that. And I know this topic has been covered before, maybe not here tho. But I dont know if a company is required to make parts available for so many years. Can anyone find an actual law that states this? And who would uphold it? With a world economy like we have now days, say Buell stopped making the Lil bolt, & then 2 weeks later the company in Italy that makes the frames went outta business because Buell no longer needed them. Where would you get frames from if you needed one? Who would you sue if you couldnt get one? |

That company Excelsiors is a company that is out of business...Buell and HD are not!!! Like I said there is a lot of people who purchased extended warranty's up to 7 years. If Buell stopped producing any parts especially ones that are under warranty and being that they are still in business they would have quite a lot of law suits and YES it is a LAW! |

Where is this law? Thats what I want to know. Each state has their laws, I doubt very much we have some national law making it illegal to stop making parts for Danas bike |
