Last fall I thought my PCV was leaking, but I've now confirmed the left rear corner of the rear rocker box is leaking. It smells bad when I park the bike, but it isn't leaking much. I had to do the same repair on my '00 S3T, but the Uly looks much tougher because of the engine rotation. Looking for what gaskets to use. I know they changed them in 2001 or 2002. I'm surprised my 2007 is leaking. Is stock okay or should I use Cometic. I'm also looking for tips on the repair. I do have the service manual, but was wondering if there are some tricks to it. Sorry for all the questions, did a search with little luck. Thanks for any help, Mark |

I'm not sure about Buell but Cometic makes the gaskets for Harley, at least they use to. For information about rotating the engine you might PM Dr. Greg, seems to be his favorite past time!! Sorry Doc, I couldn't help myself. |

I've had mine done twice under warranty. Don't wait -- my fan went out right after the leak started each time. |

Do another search. This time only search TOPIC: Big, Bad, &Dirty / Use the search phrase OIL LEAK. You should find the type posts that you want. You will be looking for threads DrGreg started. |

Fairly common problem. The engine must be rotated to access rear cylinder. If you are not up to it, take to a pro, it can get a little complicated. If I remember right the head gaskets were redesigned or the supplier was switched and the newer ones are now more reliable. |
