I'm CRUSHED to know that some people might not like the looks of my 25R. I bought it strictly for others approval |

The 250 ninja was way overdue for an update. Keeping the imitation 1988 ninja 600 look sucked even in 1988. As for leftovers, I've looked around cycle trader and 1125's can be found easily in quantity all over. Many will only advertise msrp, some with "call for reduced pricing". Others will only have "contact for quote" as a price. I miss straight up numbers without all the dancing. I don't trust any that seem to play this must know the password or secret handshake to find out what the hell they'd take for it out the door. Most seem to be waiting on that miracle that will sweep them off the floor at full price. Ah well..... The gecko idea is cute. But he should say "I'm sorry, did you need this?" while holding up the screw. Then maybe a side to side look. "More tape?" |

They are willing to negotiate, but you have to call them to do the negotiating. Would you rather they just list MSRP? I view those statements as the initial indication of a willingness to negotiate. I usually ask what the best price they can do for it is. If they come back with a price that is way higher than you want to pay, you can just tell them "I appreciate your time, but I can't do the deal for that price." That is your indication of a willingness to continue the negotiation but that they will have to be willing to come back to the table with a counter offer. If they don't come back to the table, walk. More than likely, though they will ask you what you had in mind. Now you must pitch a price. If they bite on your price, do the deal. If they say no, they may provide a counter to your counter. It ain't hard. With each round you center in on your negotiated price. There will always be a mythical "better deal" somewhere. If you are ALWAYS looking for the "best" deal, you will probably always be frustrated. The only folks I have seen who advertise ridiculously low prices on bikes are the ones clearing out their inventory. |

The reality is that the '25, like all the other Buells is going to appeal to a fairly narrow group....those that are different enough to appreciate something well....different. Personally, I think there are some styling items on the bike that are hideous...but when I think about it...I can't think of a more functional way to do it...and it as much about function as form...it's the Buell way...and it's right in many respects. Would I buy one?? If they made a scg version and my devalued investments came back to full value....why yes I would...it sux to be short in a sportbike world...vertically as well as financially. |

"Common miss conception that 1125R's are not selling well or that Buell has missed the mark with the looks because there are left over 08's at reduced prices" "Sales have been far from disappointing. The left over 08's are more of a product of the 09 upgrades being preferred by customers which consequently slowed sales on the 08's that were left over in the channel when the 09's appeared" I see an awful lot of 09's on cycletrader with discounts to believe what you are getting at. |

I believe a lot of the discounting has more to do with the economy than "styling". Anyone checking to see how much Hondas, Suzukis, and Yamahas are being discounted. Folks trying to sell used ones are having to discount them lower than I have seen in a while. |

Saw an 08 zx10r for 3K off msrp 2 weeks ago. Likely other brands are discounting also. |

I see an awful lot of 09's on cycletrader with discounts to believe what you are getting at. You missed the point. Cars and motorcycles alike are being discounted as Ft_bstrd pointed out. The point was a round the deep discounts (near or below cost) on the 08's and them still setting on the show room floors despite being so heavily discounted. |
