A guy up by me did that in the 60's put a small block Chevy in his old HD frame, direct chain drive, start it up, get it pointed straight, then push it off the stand and awaaaay you go. He used to campaign it around at different drag strips for exibition runs. He also put a Rolls Royce airplane engine in a brand new 67 Dodge station wagon, then when he got done with it he put it all back together and traded it back in on something else. He was kinda famous in the area for jet cars and the like, I think he sold the farm and retired in Florida a couple of years ago. |

Wow. He sure is proud of that thing. Maybe Brad Pitt will buy it. Some poor Corvette gave it's life to create that monstrosity....... |

No way, no how. Anyone want to stretch their upper body over the top of that blower without the blower straps and blanket on it ala NHRA? How about that clutch? Think that's an explosion-proof bell housing? Not something I'd care to wrap my leg around on... even on a bet! On their web site the only pic of the bike ready to hit the road is the one where it's loaded on the trailer. |

At least boss hoss didn't canibalize a ZL1. Those are crate motors in their bikes. This is pretty bad. I mean yeah it would be a blast to ride down the road once but the fact he stole from one of the best most sought after vettes ever is disgusting. His money so whatever but he could have at least done SOME cosmetic work if he thinks its worth more than 7500 and NO I did not miss a zero |

I saw Potter run at Santa Pod in the 70s he used to be called "The Michigan Madman" over here. As for that monstrosity, I think I'd rather not thank you very much all the same. |

the engine and speed equipment are worth a lot, but as a bike it is a POS. I would LOVE to have some of those vintage speed parts. |

did anyone see the head on shot of that thing? the motor and blower are so far to the right side of the bike youd have to be dragging your left knee to keep it going straight. i realize there is a drive on the left side, but it doesnt weigh near enough to offset that motor. If you get it for $5.00, I'll give you $10.00 so I can put the engine in my Jeep. Uhdn Uhdn. |

Mr. Grumpy, you beat me to it...I didn't realize that Ole E.J. had gone international...I remember seeing him run the smallblock bike when I was a teen...It was insane...guess thats why they called him The Michigan Madman... That monster on E-bay is unrideable...if it ever hooked up the handlebars would fold like a taco...or it would flop over, or flip over...75K is just a bit pricey for at best an unusual paperweight. Besides it looks like Jed Clampett built it. And with that slick, you aren't going to corner it anyways...it's hard enough to steer off the track with a 10" tire on a properly set up dragbike...let alone that thing. And speaking of Michigan...hiyah Swampy!! hope spring comes soon for yah!! (Message edited by fast1075 on March 12, 2009) (Message edited by fast1075 on March 12, 2009) |

Some poor Corvette gave it's life to create that monstrosity....... Only TWO Corvettes had a ZL1 engine, about 69 Camaros got em though IIRC (all in 1969, IIRC). Still, a poor RARE Chevy gave its life. only one of the two ZL1 is still known to exist... if that motor came from the other missing Vette... that would be ONE HELL of a find... and a tragedy |

Still, if it's a ZL1...a REAL one...its priceless to a collector....the bike as a whole however is still just a curiosity. |

I will buy it, swap out the ZL1 for a LS7, sell the ZL1 engine and still come out $50k ahead. Oh, and still have 200hp more! |

Note the use of the motor as a stressed frame member & the underslung exhaust. (Message edited by Mr_Grumpy on March 14, 2009) |
