I think that price is a fantastic one and would pay it in a heartbeat (I paid MSRP), but haven't we seen them going for that out the door? |

Yah but its California!(even though im a NJ native)...and we are a full fledged dealership working on Buells! especially the 1125R's! You pay for what you get when it comes to having parts and service and a dedicated passionate Buell specialist(One of 3 Buell stores within a store and I own a moded 09 1125CR)...Buell bike events, promotions, raffles/food/beverage....you get what you pay for...I'm the one working with Jardine/Dobeck performance/K&N and other's. I know there have been some dealers..but they did not care about the Buell line and just sold them under cost,(just to get rid of them or going under)etc......we know who they are....... Thanks. I wasn't trying to infer that you should lower the price further, and certainly do agree that post-sale service is huge. Just throwing out the idea of others doing lower prices, since it might impact how quickly these move off the floor. If your shop has the kind of support for the brand that you're talking about, I'm sure you'll have no issues selling them. I know I'd drive farther and pay more just to give my money to someone who really deserved it! EDIT: I love to read stuff from all the folks posting how they would stay away from and 08 and go for an 09...When they actually have neither. (Message edited by ponti1 on March 13, 2009) |

I go to Skip Fordyce on a regular basis, and they do take good care of me. Rob (racerxusa) is a huge part of that. He's always happy to answer my n00b questions or get on the computer to find stuff for me. And they do move them some Buells. |

Ok my turn: I speak for all Dealerships/sales and esp Buell/HD. Simple, sell the bikes below cost, take a loss and see how long you sell Buells or be in business in this economy. I have met and talked with a bunch of HD/Buell dealerships/salesman from Canada/US and some have way to many 2008 1125's with the economy/weather(price is higher in canada). I know since I have been sponsored for years with KTM and other bike support and get bikes at about cost. I could go on and on. I bought the 2009 1125CR since I work at this store and loved it after riding these different Buells for almost a year(and I almost bought another HD, Japanese rice cookie cutter's or Euro. Dont you think I bought the bike close to cost and a deal on other options?. How much do you think the mark up is? and did you see any rebates for Buell or HD?. How long will or would we keep this Buell store with the costs, Buell bike days/nites, events, raffle, food-beverage, Discounts and I give up to 20% off on everthing Buell, etc and special order on buell bike days, etc. We are not in the North or cold weather area where nothing is moving well since I am from the Northeast. How many leftover Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki and other Euro bikes have you seen with Sportbikes especially and dirt bikes. Out in the LA area if they are not moving and they are selling at cost plus the incentives/rebates. My roomate bought a new 2009 R1 at OTD in LA for 12,500 or so. They had many leftover 2007/2008 R1's,etc for much less(9000+- OTD). This is a quoted base price so make the best offer/negotiable(whatever it takes to move the few remaining 2008 1125R's we have) for our Buell's and depending on the deal it may be better. Either a gift certificate or other parts/acc can be worked in the deal sometimes. Remember im not a Sales man...I'm setup as a Buell specialist to show/demo/promote and bring knowledge/passion to the Buell brand with all the Harley/sportbike types that come in this store. I also do the Parts/Acc for Buell. Its a Buell store(Buell concept w/Erik) within our large HD dealership. And the beat goes on...Its been real and fun. Just my 2cents. Rob Buell Specialist "We have been ranked top 10 HD dealership in sales, etc and Buell Top 5 in US(#1 in SoCal and Nation at one time)."

Lose money now, or lose it later, they are dropping in value everyday. It's too late for profit minimize your loss and move on, the average of all the 2008's profits for the year will work out. They dropped more just while you read this. |

I PAID LESS FOR MY 1125R three weeks ago and im not bashing him or his prices this is still a good deal, and he said OBO. thanks rob for the offer on here and good luck with the sale! chris |

Sponsor or no, +1. I can't count the number of times I've gotten rude replies to my questions. Fortunately, I also can't count the number of times I've gotten very good information, moral support, and entertainment. Hope you stick it out, Chris. Too bad there's not a censor <username> command for the forums. Most of the abuse is from a handful of people. |

This topic is larger than a dealer that supports a web forum (supposed to be interaction between users) This is partly why the Govt we will be handing Harley bailout money as they have auto manufactures and banks. I reporting news not writing it. They are depreciating assets, including Hondas, they go down in value parked in sponsors lots and non sponsors lots. These are facts. I hate them too bit you cant wish them away or ignore market forces. Covering up facts has in large part made the economic slowdown worse that it should/would have been with good data and logical vs emotional thoughts. |

I have access to 2009's and I ride a 2008. I can't for the life of me figure out where the bash the 08 mantra got started, but it is ridiculous. If you are interested in a bike then find a fair price on a great bike from a interested dealership. There are about 200 Buell dealers in the states, and I'd say you can find 50+ great dealers to help you out enjoying the sport. BrapBrapBrap go deal with the other 150 that'll show em. T |

Guys, the prices listed aren't the lowest we've seen, but they are the lowest from a dealer who plans to continue to sell Buell. We have seen closeout prices for $7999-8499. These prices are from dealers who will not be carrying Buell any longer. If you want those prices, force ALL dealers to sell at these "closeout" prices. $9995 is a pretty damn good price considering I paid $10,500 in June on an 06 which was the best price around. The 1125 is twice the bike my Uly was and I paid more. I, for one, am sick of folks low balling dealers and then bitching when no one will service Buells worth a damn. |

Amen, Ft bstrd. Here we have a handbuilt American liter sportbike quick enough to spank most imports, and selling at less than $10,000 from a really engaged dealer. Nah, let's bitch until the dealer and maybe Buell go out of business. By God, America sucks and we're gonna prove it to ourselves. Then we'll have shown everyone. |

Telling him the link sucks and suggesting he change his user name to Crapcrapcrap is just stirring up more trouble. Steve, you are probably right, I just thought it was funny that the FNG is being the $hit-disturber. Reminds me of my early days here, a little over a year ago... oh, the memories. |

Thanks guys..It is BO also to clear out the remaining few 2008 1125R's! We took in quite a bit being a Buell store between our two stores and I am selling 2009's at good prices. Sorry about the link to Buell specials...I have let marketing know also...that is why I am on here all the time..to deal Buell. I will be at Fontana AMA superbike race also supporting Buell with a ride to race and discounts/promo stuff from Buell. I have invited Danny Eslick himself to our store for our big bike nite and Buell bike day...if he can make it. The K&N filter may be out sooner also with me getting the first with all the testing we have given to them being in Riverside, CA and also Jardine exhaust/tuning card/supersport fender kit I have helped with. We are the dealer that donates bikes for Jardine and K&N also. Me and my GM will work with anyone on price for being the concept store with Erik Buell himself being here...Buell advisory board also. My life is spent with Buell..riding and tesing the eqpuipment so everyone knows that Buell is the "True American SportBike"! Thanks again for your support....all I want is American bikes for now......I have ridden them all....and this bike Rocks! Rob Kreiner Buell Speccialist Skip Fordyce HD/Buell 951-785-0100 Ext 226

Motorcycles are a lot like computers, and being in the IT field, I consider myself an expert on computers. With computers, technology is updated at a rapid pace. Everyone always wants the latest and greatest, fastest, most gadget infested computer they can buy......so they can surf the web and read email. Most people aren't power users, and don't ever tax their computer. If it begins to run slow, it's because you haven't maintained it, not because the computer suddenly slowed down. The same goes for a motorcycle. There are only a handful of people who can ride a bike to its potential. I ride a 2001 Gixxer 600 on the track, and it works just fine. I've got a 2006 first year Ulysses. I have no issues with it even though Buell saw fit to make improvements in the subsequent years. If you want your bike to be faster, spend your money on track schools and track days to become a better rider. The money you save on a 2008 1125R could pay for a few track days. |
