Dont need to remember when I was a skater punk, I'm 24 and just got pinched for skating the local pharmacy's back lot. No one likes flatland tricks anymore I guess.
Most of the countries loopholes and follies are highlighted by skaters, most have moved up to high social status and upper class society tho...only to undermine it. wtf am I rambling about....
feel the pennywise you weaklings!

p.s. thought I was bad ass but I cant even get this link to work today, sorry for the copy and paste torture.
Skated from 1989-1994, rode freestyle BMX from 1998-2003. Most of the music that I got into was from skate and bike videos. I still listen to The Descendants a lot.
Throughout my teens I was on a speed skating team at Mt Juliet Skating Rink- which is now a damn hardware store or something now. Me and my buddies would head downtown to the Plaza and lace up the speed skates. None of them rollerbladey things, REAL skates.
The BESTEST fun we had was when a giant rat would show- great fun chasing one of those around... (Hmmm, rats at legislative plaza? Seems about right...)
You could also skate up and grab hold of the rope on the flagpole, take a jump, and fly a little.
Good times. I also miss Summer Lights downtown- got to see Bela Fleck and Donna Summer play at the PLaza. Market Street Beer had a tent one year- me and a good buddy had a plan, which was buy a beer, start walking, then when the beer was empty, head back to the beer tent and refill, start over. They even had a Beano tent that year, and we BEGGED for shirts. We rode mountain bikes from Elliston Place to downtown that year- even got to bunny hop over a bum passed out in the sidewalk.
