I have a chance to get a good deal a force exhaust system for my 04 xb12 and I was just wondering you guys that are running it what do you think of it. I have heard alot of good things and bad things about it but I want to hear it from someone who actually has it on their bike. I did a search and didnt come up with anything too useful but maybe I was looking in the wrong place. Here is a link to the exhaust http://www.cas4.com/Buell/Exhaust/Force/Buell ... . Also if you guys have any pics that would be appreciated, thanks. |

Yeah I heard it was pretty loud too which that is what im going for. I have a sportster right now with straight pipes and thats just right for my taste. |

Their website SUX... can't find any pics of the XB pipes Here's my take on it - their old systems were suicidally fragile. Cracking and breaking and needing constant re-welding. Later pipes had slip-couplings in the headers with spring connectors. Those are the ONLY ones I'd consider. The single piece headers just didn't hold up... and yes, they were LOUD. |

I do have the springed Force on my XB. the pipe is amazing, loud and improves your performance consistently! but I need to tune it now, bike doesn't run good, so I guess improvements will be even more when the bike will be properly tuned... and I also purchased it from cas4... |

Bigj of SCAB (SoCalAreaBuellers) fame once conducted an exhaust pipe shootout at one of the early SCAB gatherings. IIRC, the Force pipe beat out the KT pipe, but just barely at right around F4 afterburner take-off dBms. |

Yeah this kit that im looking at is used and the guy before me put bolts through where the springs are supposed to go because he said they rattled pretty bad so if the welds didnt break on him from doing that for 3,000 miles then I think they will hold. What are you going to use to tune yours The_italian_job (taking in that you meant the ecm)? |

Cool - Edoardo (Italian Job) has exactly the Force pipe that should survive better - you can see the mid-run couplings. I know the older style are being sold for "fire sale" prices. Ask Edoardo about the noise... EVERY Force pipe I've heard is LOUD |

sparky, yeah i remember that test, it was my DB meter we used, i think it was at temecula??? the force was a touch louder than the KT, which was touch louder than my supertrapp with the open cap and 21 discs. that was a fun time. |

Yeah I definetly like the looks of the header and such but when it gets down to the bottom its kinda plain in my opinion. I think I would definetly try to make the chin fairing work, I still have some jardine brackets sitting around. Great looking bikes guys keep em coming if anyone else has any. |

the Force holds the chin spoiler, it was my choice not to put it, since I have a wonderful oil filter and I didn't wanna hide it. and I think the Force looks amazing in all its length, so you wanna show it off! |

Yeah if my bike looked as good as yours then I would have left it off too. So does your bike have the acutal HARLEY sound that im looking for. Some of the exhausts I have heard just dont make it seem like its a harley motor. |

Yeah this pipe pretty much screams. I also thought about using my old Jardine brackets but then I sold my lightning and gave them to that guy. |

Loud is not the word. I had a force on my S2...that was loud. I had a force on my XB12R...I thought my ears were going to bleed. I think the nearby F-16's were quieter. If you want people to hear you, the Force pipe is it (and they probably won't be able to hear much for a few minutes afterwards). It WILL set off car alarms if you're riding by... Don't get me wrong, the sound was sick (in a good way), but it was just too much for me in my neighborhood. |

FWIW, in the past in seem alot had problems with the force on the xb12 but seemed on the xb9 it wasn`t as bad, and I think this was due to the smaller header dia. of the Force... I run one on my 12 but just the Can Not with the header, Using Stock 12 header and even with that theres a HOLE in the curve if ya can live with that.....>! |

Hog's right, Quite a few tried to tune for the pipe on a 12. Bottom end was so so and it had a hole that could not be cleared up. |

I've always heard that as well so I didn't even attempt to tune it. I was thinking about tuning with Direct Link but gave up the idea. Anybody tried this? BTW, I did notice a drop in torque in the low RPM's but I can still slow down my wheelies to about 1500 |

Yeah well hopefully its not too bad I could live with some drop in low end power but if it's too much then whats the worst that could happen, I would just try to sell to someone on here for really cheap. But im kind of going for more the sound anyways so it should be aliright for me. Anybody tried tuning their bike with xopti inside ive heard nothing but good stuff about that guy and his work. |

now that i actually read this thread, i about guarentee you i know the bike that system came off of. a black with orange race striped xb9r. we swapped the stock header back on it at work a couple weeks ago. he had it bolted together like that for as long as i know of. |

Yep thats the one because he said it was off his xb9r and he sent me one picture of it and it was black with orange stripes and wheels. Thats funny I guess its a small world after all, so now that you have seen the pipe before I have in person do you think I should still go for it?
