I've been reading about exhausts for my 98 S1, everyone says 99 up pipes won't fit. Is this true? What is actually interchangelable from bike to bike. | ||

The frame change on the left side negates using a 99 and later header. This also goes for using the "Race" header. The 98 WL had a 2.5 inch collector also. Stock S1 only has a 2 inch. Very little that can not be used from bike to bike and year to year. S2 controls = no (1 inch bars) headers = as mentioned If you wanted to fuel inject your S1. You can do it. If you get all the pieces from the X1 or S3 fuelies. You would have to modify the wire harness to fit though. The gas tank would need to come from an S3. brakes (systems) = match brembo to brembo or nissan to nissan. | ||

Will a 1997 S3 Header, model # S0101.9A, fit on my 1997 S1? I use a 2 1/2" exhaust pipe on my bike. (I currently have a S1W header on my bike, which replaced my original header, that broke with a V&H pipe on it -- and was looking to buy this S3 header, #S0101.9A, as a backup). Thanks! - Bud | ||

i have the newer 2-1/2" header on my 95 s2. i think its either from a 98 WL or a s3... Cant remember. im pretty sure you can exchange just about any exhaust with the same shape, diameter doesnt matter. the "S" shaped exhausts for everything up to a 98. 99 and up had the "T" shaped headers... see here for year changes...
