I didn't post because it was a crappy weekend (had to put down the dog I was shuttling at the time) and I forgot...but I passed an honest-to-god S2T Defender on the road. White, red/blue decals, saddlebags/lowers. For more reasons than just seeing the bike, I wish I could have stopped... |

You could have gotten stopped by, ahem, uh, outrageously exceeding the speed limit? |

Yeah, the more I look at 'em, the more I think it was an S3. Still cool to see, though! It'd be cool to get a pic of the old tuber cop bikes next to a new XP Uly |

It'd be cool to get a pic of the old tuber cop bikes next to a new XP Uly You don't happen to have any pics of the Uly Cop bike (besides what is on the Buell web site)? I must say, I thought for a moment, of turning the 95 S2 into a cop bike. I sold my white bags and do not feel like going through the hassle of trying to get another pair. 1313 posted the decals for the cop bike as well and all I need is a few good pics and someone to airbrush it. Damn it Joe! I might have to do that. I need to find some pics with better detail. The lights in the side fairings look cool! |

Yes, they are all Badass! I need to do a search to find those lights! I doubt I can get the decals but with enough pictures I could have someone air brush the bodywork. I need to go down to our local PD to talk with those guys to see what rules I would be breaking. I am thinking as soon as I put the word "Police" on it all bets are off. It looks like there is a bracket that is attached to the base of the mirrors to allow the front lights to be mounted. Cool stuff. |

The lights are old-school Whelen or Federal Signal strobes. These days you'd be better off getting some LEDs - you can get clear lenses on LEDs, so when they're off, they're clear...they only have color ("they're amber, officer..I SWEAR") when they're turned on. And I think (I'm pretty sure) they have the same base/bezel design now, as a retrofit feature. We've got an XP in stock right now, but no response kit on it yet. I'll get some pics as soon as its installed. It's all LED. For the decals - I just got an email from Brankin where he took some pics at the AMA museum. The decals are reflective. If you want to get some 'brushed on, though, you could always go the "college campus" route: "PUBLIC SAFETY". People see white with red and blue stripes and some sort of wording? They'll get out of your way. Nobody ever tailgated me (my old FLHP):
The very top light was a run/stop, and the 2-segment below (a little brighter) was a 2-channel wig-wag I hooked up to the Pursuit switch. Tailgate? <click> Back the F off! Combined with the blue reflective stripes on the bags and tank...it worked EVERY time And, with no lighting facing forward...nothing but a brakelight. |

Thanks Joe, it is going to have to wait. I have two bikes on the lift right now and need to get them sorted out. I have an extra set of body work and may do it. I will research the lights a little tomorrow. Instead of Police on the side I will put FIVE 0 or something else. Could be fun. Frank |
