I know they'll have to come up with a better connection for those pods. Sad that happened, might have won. |

It's always the little stuff. I was sick when I saw it. What about the Buell that went down and was still in it? I think it's pretty good to go from 68 to 13th after a pod loss. I really think there would have been a 1/2 contender there. Damn. |

>>>They (Ducati) were also not operating with a clean slate motor. True. One of the things Buell has been striving for is a race bike that you and I can buy. The 6 Buells you watched last night had, other that the Buell Race Pipe (which you can purchase) and some ECM tweaks (which you can do) were much as they rolled off the assembly line. Hehehehehe . . . . perhaps Eslick shoulda stuck with Buell bodywork rather than aftermarket?

I heard that the Aprilias and Ducatis are going to ask for a cc increase, so they can run with the Buells. |

I was actually embarrassed for Buell and Danny, when they busted out zip ties and duct tape to secure the right POD. Especially when Danny grabbed some duct tape himself and began working on it. What the F, that tech looked like he had no clue what he was doing! Sh!t after he was done the damn POD was still flapping around! That whole deal was terrible. One word, Embarrassing! They looked like a bunch of Jerry's out there, minus Danny. |

It was fun to watch this race. Too bad for Eslick as he was definitely a contender. Was kinda nice to see the mix at the end. There were five different manufactures in top six bikes. |

Hell of a race! Every Buell finished. Including the brown colored one that was used as a dirt bike and tumbled violently to a stop. The rider just hopped back on and got right back to the business at hand. Awesome race! I had Eslick picked to win before the race and was very bummed out when his pod failed. A couple more laps and he would have been right up there dicing with Bostrom again, no doubt. Amazing. That safety car is bullshit. They need to do something about making the yellow flag more visible to the riders. (wave it or something) It was almost like they were trying to keep the caution a secret! THEN THEY PUT A CAR ON THE TRACK- WTF!! It's a wonder no one was killed. Note to the AMA: this is a motorcycle race. please use motorcycles. (morons) |

RRW is updating and includes a Buell press release: http://roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=3 5778 Eslick really clawed his way back up to finish where he did. RMR is going to work on it - don't worry, you think they didn't notice their "wardrobe malfunction?" Good pic of Shawn in RRW:

I'm happy to hear Buell did so well. Based on the fact that they are SO close to the bikes we buy at the dealer, as compaired to all the others its even more amazing to me. Way to represent! |

This just in from AMA Pro Racing... BUMMER!! Eslick got DQ'd for passing when the caution car was out. DANG - but you can sure see how he was FREAKING WORKING to get back in the hunt. Where the F*** do they come up with that pace car caution thing anyways? It freaking CAUSED one wreck and I sure can't see where it adds anything except confusion. Waving yellow flag means the same thing and nobody gets hurt - AND if they pass during a waving yellow, they're still DQ'd. What does the car bring to the party except confusion??? (and something else completely irrelevant for the announcers to talk about) Arrrgggg... I'm about ready to start my predictable RANT about NA$CAR styled moto-racing... (OK, I'll go in my corner and calm down) (Message edited by slaughter on March 07, 2009) |

"I don't know who the announcers were but they sucked." I agree! It's like they never did a bike race before. I'm still pissed about the safety car confusion though. That practice has got to stop before someone dies. |

I was surprised to see all of the Buell riders using the stock brakes. And none of them dying in a horrible fiery crash. |

A "safety car" sounds like a good thing. For a car race, I would agree. What happened? A section of track lighting failed, so they flew the caution flag (possibly with inadequate lighting) and about half the racers never saw the flag. At the same time, they put that stupid safety car on the track. The mass confusion resulted in a couple of bad wrecks and everyone getting out of position under a yellow flag. A very unfortunate series of events. |

Imagine flying along at 180 mph, totally focused on riding as hard as you can when all of a sudden you come around a corner draggin yer knee and fly into a pack of bikes runnin 100 mph slower FOLLOWING A CAR. |

Tremendously bad form in safety car use. Safety cars work great ON AN OVAL. They suck on road courses with limited sight distances. Phenomenally stupid. If you had had a problem with your bike plastics followed by a slow pit for repair and were working very hard to run up though the pack and came upon lap traffic that was running slow but could see no signal, would you pass them or slow down? Sucks that Eslick got DQ'd due to confusion and bad warning signal management. I agree that the "safety car" is one NASCAR idea that doesn't translate. I did like the rolling start, though. Although it stretched out the field and made it a little harder for the folks in the back of the field to move up, it did prevent a lot of the cold tire, 1st/2nd turn mayhem that usually occurs. |

I am interested to know what changes to the stock bikes are permitted. I think this class of racing is wonderful, to be able to see, basically, the bike you can buy. |
