Incredible ! And ya gotta did that Aprilla was the fastest lap of the race . . . 1:48.949 . . then Suzuki 1:49.041 . . then Buell 1:49.431. . . and that run from the back of the pack up to 13th place . . . . . . Incredible ! . . GO BUEL RACING! |

It looks like Eslick was running the Flexi-Glass bodywork versus the Buell Factory bodywork Higbee was running. |

I am so happy to see a Buell run up front. Some incredible riding and a lot of skill. I think the rules have changed. It is going to be an interesting year. |

Cool! I'm a Buell fan and they had a great race and finish; I race an R6 and they won; my street ride is an Ape Tuono and they had the fastest lap... damn all my itches getting scratched in one race!!! Congratulations Buell Racing! |

That was a good race! Not one Buell DNFd. I like the new class structure. It's going to be a good year for road racing. |

>>>>>all my itches getting scratched in one race!!! Hahahaha . . . how true! . . . . I'm for sure a Bull fan but THIS is the type of racing I've dreamed of . . . the Aprilia was right there in the hunt at the end too! By the way . . . it's REAL EASY to send Shawn Higbee a card at the factory . . . . what a race! |

Read the AMA rule book for the Daytona Sportbike class they do not have a 3lbs per HP rule ,they only have a weight limit which is 385 lbs for twins, 375 lbs for triples, and a 365 lbs limit for 600cc fours . The Buell 1125RR got a competion allowance to weigh only 365 lbs . When did they change the rules? Originally, they were talking about 3lbs/HP. And why was the Buell given the "special 365 lb weight limit"? So a smaller displacement Ducati and Aprilia had to weigh 20 lbs more? How did DMG justify this?} |

Part of the coolest part of this is that . . . . the bike Shawn rode to 5th he basically put together and did most the work on himself in the hotel parking lot . . . . Dave Gess will be telling THIS story someday!

Six Buell 1125Rs started the 200, six finished. The problem for Danny came from the mounting details of aftermarket bodywork, and it won't happen again. As Court said, Shawn and a few friends spent two very late nights putting together his racebike from several boxes of parts, and it was stock almost beyond belief. It had the Buell race pipe and a race ECU, that's it for power production. It ran the Buell bodywork kit over stock pods, and they of course stayed firmly attached. |

What a great result and a great race. The last few laps, even with the pace car screw up were quite fun. Shawn had to work hard to hold off that Aprila. 4 different brands with three distinct motor types in the top 6. I think this DMG thing is gonna work! |

Gads . . . where is the next race? . . I am infected! The Buells just REFUSE to be held down . . . and I confess I hope to see that Aprilia again as well. This racing reminds me of the "good ol' days" of "THE MILE". Wow ! |

Yes, it is infectious. I am not a racer but always admired those that had the talent. I can not wait to see a Buell on the Podium which I bet will happen a few times this year. |

Next race is in Fontana CA. 2 weeks. Don't know how much time Shawn (and Mitsu at Bartels) will have to really get her further dialled in. Shawn MIGHT race willow in the coming weekend on his B bike but if he doesn't, we'd sure understand... that'd be 3 freaking race weekends this month! Geeez, and to think I get exhausted getting out of my chair this morning to get another cuppa joe. |
