I am looking to put a small turbo on my bike not that it’s fast already. I have a need for speed but, I have a turbo Honda and I love the sound of it. so I am not looking for anything crazy but looking for a few psi and the sound. Thanks for the help.

http://www.turbowhistler.net/?gclid=CPDZl4r7jJkCFQ FvGgodDCswnA Maybe replace the tips with these and get that sound without all the expense and development. I've seen a nice system for the XB but don't think he has any plans for an 1125 system. |

Well Oddball, you and me both. I just posted about this the other day. I already have two turbo cages. Might as well do my 25r and maybe...just maybe...the lawnmower. Muahahaa! Let me know what you come up with and we can compare notes? |

First you need to figure out your HP target, then size turbo accordingly. Going to have to keep boost down with no intercooler and stock compression. Turbo needs to be hung, exhaust fabbed, oil plumbed to turbo, external fuel pump with boost referenced fuel pressure regulator, sealed plenum,blow-off valve---all of which is very doable--- but you need some way to map the bike for fueling under boost, so an add-on box of some kind is needed. We used a Tuneboy on the Gixxer. |

REALLY need to figure a way to fit an intercooler. Without one, you simply cannot add enough boost to make all the rest of it worthwhile. The elevated charge-air temps, without an intercooler, will seriously affect durability past 4 or 5 lbs. of boost. You need to get to 8-10 lbs. of boost to "have fun"... Ran an intercooled turbo set-up on my '90 FXR for years. Fast and reliable. Also, to avoid boost lag, the best solution is a variable-vane turbo which spools up quicker, but still puts out good boost once revs build. They are readily available, if not exactly cheap. |

Supercharged Aprilia RSVR http://www.spoonvalleyracing.se/page2.html I think that a supercharger is the best way to go on a bike, but agree that if you're set on using a turbo that you should use a Variable-Vane Turbo (aka Variable Geometry Turbo). You can likely find a suitable unit out of a Dodge Sprinter Diesel van. Either way be sure to post up a thread to document your experience. |

No matter if you are turboing or supercharging you need to be able to add fuel with boost levels and compressing air always heats the air. Lots of superchargers use intercoolers also. You need a method to drive the supercharger and have all the other requirements of a turbo--mounting, oil system, sealed plenum, etc |

I like the idea of a supercharged V-Twin... The sprintex twin-screw type more than a centrifugal unit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCbfwPRUSNo http://www.sprintex.com.au/Super_Squalo.asp http://www.duccutters.com/supersqualo/SqualoBrochu re-v2.pdf http://www.sportrider.com/features/146_0801_vee_tw o_super_squalo/index.html |
