The needles do not light up. The MPH and RPM are lighter colors compared to the rest of the gauge face. This allows the light to shine through.

What if u use glow in the dark paint for the tips of the needles it should work

someone over on the Buelletin Board painted both needles orange to match. cant remember what paint he used but looked fantastic over the black faceplate

On the Buelletin Board if you search there is somebody that picked up an aftermarket set that looked great, was around $65's if I recall currectly but was not just a face plate but a whole dash.
