I am just a troller on Badweb don't contribute anything, just read what everyone has to say and learn what I care to learn about our beloved 1125R's! I have always owned and rode jap bikes until the 11. Always wanted a Buell cause they handle great, but never desired an air-cooled Harley v-twin! Broke my own rule of buying a first year new model anything and look what happened! I have had the bike since last February and it has been the worst disaster I have ever owned! Granted it runs well now, but everytime I turn around something else is wrong. Bought it at the dealership my wife works at and shortly there after they dropped Buell, so now I travel to get the thing fixed. And the list of trouble goes on longer than I care to list. Right now it sits at the dealership waiting parts so maybe I can enjoy this riding season! What exactly is my point to this rambling you may wonder? In regards to the Drummer drama, we all have a right to question untested proven equipment. Most of us have paid the price for buying an unproven bike! So sure I want to know what this or any aftermarket equipment is all about before I consider buying. Is the Drummer a good pipe, I have no clue but am sure it probably is. Will it save weight and gain HP probably. But, no exhaust system can or will make any engine perform to its utmost ability without tuning! I have been involved in racing on all different levels for 20 years and all exhaust systems must be tuned! The long term effects of simply putting on a new exhaust and not changing fuel, spark, and air tends to have ill results! I am not an expert and don't claim to be, bash away if you feel the need! I am not trying to insult the Drummer in any way shape or form, but facts are facts and I have yet to see any relevant testing info to prove anything to any degree about this Exhaust. Looks and sound alone don't make any exhaust worth buying. I am sure Drummer along with all others building aftermarket parts will sell and in most cases make the owner/rider happy. I wish everyone who has or is involved in the efforts for the 11's the best of luck. Thanks to all that have contributed here for the knowledge I have gained and the fact some of you have helped in one way or another to get my bike running well and solving some of my issues! I no longer will visit this site as the BS is way to much for me. It is no loss to any of you, but seems that many of you are steering the wrong direction. I came here to learn and read discussions about how this bike can be fixed. All that seems to go on is bashing and playing favorites. Here is the big climax that will get everyones panties in a bunch and start the "thats why he wrote this" crap! I know MM very well and consider him to be a great friend. Who has not only gave me reason to keep my 11 but his efforts have done more for this bike than 99% of you have a clue of! Its human nature to get defensive about the Drummer If you are involved with their efforts. Understandable, sure is but I never heard any ill words directed towards the people at Drummer, just criticle of an unproven product! Other products have been picked apart and some even laughed at on this forum. Isn't that kinda what we are all on this forum for? Seperate the good from the bad get the facts about new products and info regarding the 1125R? Hope you all have a nice day and hope all have a great year on your 11's. |

Sorry to hear of your issues. Luckily, most Buell owners love them, and become repeat buyers. |

*shrug*. I missed all the drama. But I will observe that it seems to me that you can tune an exhaust to a stock configuration, particularly on a bike with active sensors, if you are careful and methodical and have good empirical data. And that seems like a smart approach, IMHO. You could also build an exhaust that *won't* converge to a sweetspot with the factory stock setup, and that would need more tuning. More variables to manage, more work to do, more hard lessons to learn and more things to screw up, but it could work also. |

Most unreliable motorcycles I've ever owned- and I'll always own one... we're weird that way. As to the Drummer issue, I'm not sure what people expect- how many of these exhausts are in existence? I mean, really, how can people demand results from something that's just become available? The hard numbers already reported have been attacked, and no one is being forced to buy anything- so what's with people getting bent out of shape over this? Note: it's not the manufacturer or testers that have created this situation- and I'm at a loss as to why some people have made this such an issue. It's simple- a highly respected exhaust builder has designed a new system for the 1125. It is high quality, has positive test results, and is priced competitively. Anyone who wants to purchase one is free to do so, for those who want real world results- wait for the reports from those who purchased. I do not understand the necessity for the drama. |

I too missed the drama and, even though I am one who runs and loves the stock exhaust on my Buell, I'd call it a stretch to call the Drummer "unproven". I'm not sure how Steve is involved but I know he is and he's one of the most anal retentive (Badweb has a number of them) Engineers I know, had an entire fleet of Buells and runs around the state with a fully instrumented test bike and is a regular, with his 1125R, at the race track. Drama? What drama? |

IMO most drama is caused by one party or another losing their manners. The message gets lost in the static after that point. |

Whatever Fatty said.... Jerk.... J/K!! But seriously, it's generally not what is said, it's how it's said. I work around people all day long and it just seems (in general) that people have forgotten a bit about manners and how to interact with their bretheren. But Obama's gonna fix that... (sarcasm emphasized) LOL (Message edited by Paint shaker on March 02, 2009) |

Aaron: You ain't seen/ heard nutt'n yet. Just get somebody started about contact patches or oil or flux capacitors and watch the sparks fly!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a lot of great people on this site and everyone has their own ideas, that's what makes the world go around. After 9+ years on this site this discussion is mild compared to some. Hang around, it's worth the wait. Neil S. |

The somewhat liquid type, dark in color unless you see light thru it, then it's a kinda amber color. You can get it anywhere. Mike |

If this topic heads off toward "rugs" "drapes" and "hardwood floors" like the last one, I'm not coming back for a while. |
