I'm looking at a route that includes 144. I'm thinking about doing the superslab deal to about Scranton and then going North and taking trails, back roads or whatever . .. just keep generally heading West. |

Mark61; Thanks for the heads up. We're thinking of riding the loop from Clearfield to St. Marys to Renovo. It just looks too good on a map. Maybe, instead of going south on 144 at Renovo, we'll go north towards New York State. It will be just after the end of the Financial year at work, and production will slow; so we're going to make a long weekend out of the ride. I hope the weather is in a cooperative mood. |

I was thinking of taking a big loop through the Catskills, then make my way southwest. Come on good weather! |

Crusty, Hyner Veiw is less than 5 miles east of Renovo so do make the ride up there! You can back track or take Hyner Run road-wild mountian country-back north to 44 and then north to 144/ rt 6. 144 south of Renovo goes thru State Forest. As stated posted at 35mph. That is a BS limit. I aint admitting to how I know that! Caution regarding wild life thru there. rt144 north to rt6 is a supurb ride also! I never get going very fast there due to watching the scenery and not knowing the road like I do south. If you go thru St. Marys stop for a case of beer or the free tour. While you are in Clearfield check out Grice's Gun shop and Grice's Auto Museum. Both right down town and less than a block from each other. I never make it out of the gun shop with out spending some money! mark61 |

Wonder why Toona ain't been all over this thread. That is a nice 20 minute ride north from him. I've been lurking, trying to figure out my schedule for the Saturday prior to Denny's BB on Sunday. Thinking.... Wondering if I could entice some to come a little farther south for some of my favorite roads..... and of course..... Clem's BBQ! As a side note, Clem's is looking at relocating MUCH closer to Bellwood, like maybe a mile instead of 26 miles. Since I-99 opened, there business is off 50%-60%. There is a closed restaurant that they are looking to lease. Newspaper said they were hoping to be in the new location April/May. |

Clem's moving that close to you will put some meat on YOUR bones if you visit them regularly! Article I read in the Center Daily Times made it sound like a done deal. Has there been a meeting time mentioned for that day? If so I missed it in these posts. mark61 (Message edited by mark61 on March 01, 2009) |

I've been known to ride hundreds of miles to eat good BBQ. Maybe we could make it to Clem's for dinner Saturday night? |
