The arrogance and lack of class being displayed by some here is very disappointing. |

I sent the PM. There was no request in it, only my opinion expressed privately. If I had wanted to berate the recipient publicly, I would have done just that. Taking the issue and my private correspondence public? Why? There was no request contained in my private message. There was simply my opinion. Words and punctuation have meaning. A failure to comprehend the English language is common among folks with large egos. Ask me how I know. Regardless, prefacing any apology the way Slypiranna did renders it's sincerity questionable. I don't see much if anything resembling an apology. The wording makes little sense to me, and it apologizes for no offense. Slypirana's posts attacked a man of well-known good character who has been producing products of well-known high quality that perform as advertised for many years now. Montgomery, It'd be interesting to see your reaction to folks publicly antagonizing you, your livelyhood, reputation and personal honor on the internet. This in my view is what you've done to Kevin and the folks at Drummer/KD Fab. Your apology rings entirely hollow from my view and I'm sad to say that my personal estimation of your character is greatly diminished. To be clear, and since this is a bit of a pet peeve for me, an Example of a sincere apology would be:
"I am sorry for behaving poorly and for publicly antagonizing and deriding a reputable man and his business, and I am sorry for the ruckus and malcontent my posts contributed here. I was out of line and I sincerely am sorry for that." An example of an insincere non-apology would be:
"I'm sorry if you took anything that I said as a negative." An apology expresses regret for personal actions deemed offensive to others. Saying that one is sorry for how others perceive one's actions is not an apology. It's just a flippant continuation of the argument. (Message edited by Blake on February 27, 2009) |

Seriously? Wow. I'd expect this kind of bickering on the GSX-R website, not BadWeb! Fresno, you said, "Wait for testing by the first adapter guinea pigs? Wow. That's nuts. " Didn't you buy an 08 Buell? =) Let's all have a couple and chill. No mas on the fights, geez!

The bad thing with emails and postings is that you can't really get a feel for the "tone" of what was being said. You can "read" so many things into the written word. I have talked with Kevin on the phone when I purchased my SS. He was one of the nicest guys I have ever dealt with. He gave me his cell# and suggested I call him if I had trouble with the install. It doesn't get any better than that. I know Montgomery. He is one of the most helpful and knowledgeable people I have met. He has been a tremendous help to me and our dealership. He is a good guy. If you knew him and talked with him you could really appreciate what a great guy he is. Everyone take a deep breath and lets continue to ask questions and learn on this thread. It is o.k. to question performance of a new product. Some of us like dyno charts and such. We use that to judge the product performance...along with looks, etc. Everyone, please read your message a few times before posting. Some of us may wish to have a cup of coffee, or a beer and then come back and re-read the message and make sure it is not going to be taken the wrong way and then post the message. Let's everyone have a great Friday!! |

Agreed. One thing that I love about this "place" is that I have found many kindred spirits. This topic has gotten a little heated, and I have if anything thrown my share of fuel on the fire. Specifically, Fresno, I got a little hot reading some of your posts, and I think the filter between my brain and the keyboard got a little overloaded. This is a place where all should feel welcome to share thoughts and ask questions, and respond freely to others. We are all adults, and this topic for some reason tangled up the normally civil discourse that we typically see here. I plan to go forth and sin no more. (Except for maybe when I'm riding...) O.K. On with the show! Rob |

Okay, as long as everyone and their brother is having a say in this mess... My name is on the fabled "list" for a Drummer. The pipe looks and sounds absolutely bad-ass. Personally, at this point in time, I'm not sure how I feel about the testing and development of this pipe. I haven't seen a lot of dyno charts showing more than just WOT runs. HOWEVER I know it took all those involved a long time to get this pipe finalized. I'm confident enough that if my name were to come up on the list now, I'd go through with the purchase. I'm also confident that in the months ahead while others get their pipes before me, PLENTY of info will come available, and I'm sure there will be dyno runs and all that involved as well. I'd guess that anyone that would be unhappy with the pipe wanted to be unhappy with the pipe. Let's not get carried away with the info requests - a) Kevin's got to protect what's his, and b) he's not some multi-billion dollar operation with access to unlimited dyno time and R&D sessions. He's doing what he can for us, and providing a product that many of us are asking for. I know that I would be hard-pressed to find a single person that was unhappy with any of Kevin's products or services. That fact ALONE makes me comfortable enough to buy. That says a lot about a person's character. Aside from this post, I've kept myself out of all the b.s. bickering that isn't getting anything done. I'm just waiting and reading for any new info that comes out. I doubt my mind will change. |

blake stated It'd be interesting to see your reaction to folks publicly antagonizing you, your livelyhood, reputation and personal honor on the internet. hate to say it, but i see that coming... ive been keeping my mouth shut on it for far to long i guess. http://www.markelengineering.com/1125x.html now my real curiosity becomes, if sly is already all but producing the most perfect pipe for an 1125. why would anyone be so gung ho to get a someone elses test pipe from over seas to take a nice long look at... this was posted earlier on by sly and i never got a response to my question about it. it was apparently directed towards kdfab. "You" pay for sponsorship here, learn from others here and then post ads voicing the way you do things like it has been your way all along...ok but don't be so quick to judge. now me being who i am and having been around here for awhile wonder what thats supposed to mean. my BWB history may be incorrect but i do believe drummer was one of the first people to actually start producing pipes on this board for resale to everyone. correct me if im wrong. so then i wonder who kevin was copying. in turn, what i see going on with the markel engineering pipe seems to be someone trying their damndest to get there hands on someone elses prototype pipe with the likely hood of checking it all over in the interest of furthering the production of their own pipe. kind of seems like this "You" pay for sponsorship here, learn from others here and then post ads voicing the way you do things like it has been your way all along...ok but don't be so quick to judge. is coming from personal experiance minus the sponsorship |

OK, time to chime in....I think the pipe looks BAD A#$. The only thing holding me back from putting my name down for one a long time ago is my job and how loud this pipe might be...(can't get one if it is loud enough to get me into trouble with my job...I can risk some, but nothing like the saron, D&D or other pipes mentioned). I do believe I will be dropping Kevin a line to get answers to my "concerns". Other than that....Great looking product. |

I have not heard one in person, but I've been informed that it IS loud and close to the decibel level of a Jardine. I've heard both the D&D and the Jardine. The D&D is excessively loud, the Jardine is marginally quieter. I heard both indoors, so that will play a small factor in the amount of noise, but suffice it to say, they're all going to be considerably louder than a stock pipe, since they all share one common design. They are all straight-thru pipes. The amount of baffles or material will determine exactly how loud. |

rice I'm with you why get someone else's pipe to design one. if you have there tools and skill its not hard to punch in the numbers to find the measurements then start bending, welding and fitting. wha-la you have your own pipe. the only common factor will be where they mount area. mike |

So... this "drummer". Is it a motorcycle exhaust or a soap opera? By the way I saw this pic floating around the web. Anyone know what the exhaust is? A drummer prototype, one off custom or some other product no one mentions for some reason?

Although I haven't seen a good clean view of the factory Race exhaust, from what I've seen of it's can this looks very similar. |

What does the factory race exhaust include? Are the headers any different, or is it a muffler and y-pipe like the Drummer? (Message edited by boltrider on February 28, 2009) |
