Toolmaker/Tool Designer. But I wear lots of hats during the day. Everything from helping quote new & repair work, I'm the IT manager. I spend very little time out on the shop floor these days, unfortunately. Most of my time is spent drawing purdy' 3D pictures all day. |

I work in a R&D group as a mechanical designer, machinist, mechanic and anything else that needs to be done. Overall I have a very good job. I design parts and assemblies in AutoCad Inventor, program them in MasterCam and cut the parts on a small Intelitek CNC mill and lathe. I wish I had larger equipment that I could push harder but hey we can't have everything and after surviving the last layoff of 330 people I'm just happy to have a job. |

I sell HD, honda and Yamaha parts for the time being. Moving soon so that will change. Also going to school for radiology. During my spare time I pinstripe (with paint, not tape) and do some bodywork and whatever else i can do to make a buck (welding and such) (Message edited by vortec57 on February 26, 2009) |

ah, Singapore.. I didn't like Singapore, I always felt I was doing something wrong when I was there. In 01 I did a full Asian tour doing an Exchange / Active Directory rollout. By the time I got into Australia I was crazed to eat a M#$@!-F!$!^%$ steak with a FORK. |

nope, nothing to do with me. You should have bought a Western Digital one, I did. I have been getting some interesting information about Seagate. IMHO, I think they are going to be in a world of trouble in the future. From what I hear they put a lot of eggs in one basket and apparently not the correct one. They just closed their R&D building in Pittsburgh and another one in a different location. We had some equipment there that is now going to the Fremont, CA plant. I have been to the Pittsburgh facility and it is (was) pretty big. Back to your regularly scheduled program........ |

My last few purchases have been Seagates, fast, quiet, reliable. Hell I bought a 750gb refurb from Woot a few months ago without thinking twice. I just bought two 1.5TBs at the beginning of the year, and then heard about the firmware issues. So far so good, but it is always in the back of my mind. I might be getting a pair of the new WD 2TB drives just in case. That will increase my space in my main computer to 10TB, time to download more porn |
