Replacing my stock mirrors with CRG Hindsight lane splitter bar ends soon. Any suggestion on front turn signals for the 1125R. |

+1 on that question. I have been actively looking myself. Someone with a CR got a really nice set of LED bullets from Harrison Specialties, but because the mirror mounting points on the R don't really face forward and level, the bullets would end up facing crosseyed and down to the front tire. In reality, my preference would be for someone to make a solution that makes the current mirrors usable. The mirror position is only a little irritating; it's the vibration that makes them worthless. I noticed that, if I hold the fairing firmly the wobble is greatly reduced. This would seem to indicate it's the mounting position, not the mirror itself, that is unstable. Perhaps some kind of crossbar or other support underneath would help . . . *sigh* |

I used the stock mirrors/turn signals, and relocated them. They are more sturdy, and I have a better viewing of what's behind me and the blind spots, as well as being able to view from the crouched position. The mirrors also act like a wind or rain deflector for my hands. I think I still have the plans for the brackets.

In previous posts some have relocated the blinkers to where the running lights are & using block out plates over the fairing holes. Sounds like the way I'd go when I get done w/ other mods. |

T-jack, I saw your thread when your first did the mod, and I have to say I would copy that in a hot second. But I couldn't figure it out from the diagram you posted. Is there any way you might consider putting together a "for dummies" guide to replicating your mod? |

I'll try to get some better illustrations as I don't have my bike with me. Let me figure out how to do the best step by step instructions. Toby |

T Jack What is the red light bar on the bottom of the fairing for? Just for style, I think. It's one of those Knight Rider light bars. |

Here is my solution for the front turn signals. I used rear turn signals and mounted them on the DarkHorse Moto block off plates.

Very alien...Kinda reminds me of antennae! Given all the troubles initially had with the rear signals, I'm surprised you would use them for the front. Yes, I know the issue is supposed to be corrected...That's just the first thing that came to mind. |

Here is a photo from inside the fairing. I drilled a hole in the frame for the turn signal wire. Without drilling a hole the wires had too much of a kink in them.

im sorry but all these other options just seam UGLY to me... i had to deal with these bar end mirrors and other turn signals with my BLAST! because of the micky mouse ears they put on for mirrors. when i got my R i was so happy for the looks and not having to deal with stupid round things hangin off the bars. idk jus seams like when the mirrors are chaged the bike looks like some kinda gramlin or somethin lol. sry im not tryin to put any of you down i jus think stock looks better |

No offense taken. Bikes are like women, everyone likes something a little different. I didn't like the look of the stock mirrors, I thought they looked like big eyebrows. To each his own. |

Ponti, I had some initial reservations about using the rear turn signals. It just seemed to be the best solution for me. The complaints about the rear turn signals burning out seems to have settled down. |

Here is a link where the front blinkers and mine were discussed before. I can get you more info if this does not answer it. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/424914.html?1231086719 I pretty much just shopped E-bay for the right size blinker to cover the old flat spot where the factory mirrors attached. |

Almost done Doing the computer sketches of my setup. I won't be united with my bike till about September. BITT's back in El Paso and I am in Korea. Th light bar is part of my theme. Knight Rider. If I can get my father to take the fairing off and take photos, I will. By the way just four screws and the front fairing comes right off, in like two minutes. Everyone has their own favorite flavor. I just happened to think real hard about where the most practical place to mount the mirrors would be. Kinda keeps the hands warm during the cold as the mirrors block the wind. I'll post the plans in a new thread. Toby |

Here is a link to the original post of the mirror relocation brackets with the new diagram. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/430265.html?1235370870 Xbswede, I like the blinkers. That is what I have for rear blinkers in red with a smoke lens. As far different taste. I like the functionality of the originals just not the location. Toby |
