It didn't break..actually other than a couple deep ones, the scratches are relatively minor. SOmeone that isn't as anal as me would probably just keep the thing and live with it. suggestions of a buffing technique that won't leave swirl marks? I had a black Supra when I was younger and trashed the paint with swirl marks, so I am paranoid. I can try anything I suppose as I already had my mind up on replacing it. if there "deep" they wont buff out its colored plastic not painted. most you can do is polish the whole thing up and try to make it "blend in". | ||

well, deep in comparison to the rest of the scratches....probably not as bad as you are thinking... so it's just normal auto polish and some elbow grease you think? | ||

you can give it a shot. i tried buffing some scratches out of my blast and it worked on some and did nothin on others.. dont be fooled by they fancy 2 oz bottle of scratch remover for 15 bucks either iv tried them all on all kindas of stuff from bike plastic to cars and they all work the same for me lol seams to be that stuff just needs to be buffed good. and if it doesnt work out its not too much to replace. (jw how old is ur brother?) if someone in my house messed somethin up on my bike id make them fix it lol (or pay for it) unless hes like real young and didnt know what he was doing | ||

Harlan, wet-sand it and polish it. Use LOTS of water, 320/400 to start, 600, 1200, 2000. Then I went to 4-0 steel wool then Meguiar's Class Gold. Worked VERY well on the rad pod I slid out the parking lot on a few months ago. Z | ||

Can't charge my brother--he's broke and it was an accident, careless accident, but an accident nonetheless. That's no really my style anyway. Thanks Zac. I'll have a go at it. Figure if I mess it up, it was on the way out anyway. |
