I think I'll be pretty close on the list, and though I don't have any really High Quality equipment (for video.....) I will make up for it in volume. I can't wait! R |

I'm wondering why the cost for this is so much higher than the Drummer SS for the XBs? To go from ~$675 shipped to ~$1,000 shipped is an unexpected increase for me. I will need to do some more saving to be able to cough up that kind of coin. I wonder the same thing... but the SS Drummer doesn't have to have the y-pipe section made, which is probably a lot of it, in addition to rising metal prices. The price tag doesn't take the drummer out of the running for me, but it's a harder sell, for sure. I'm really going to need to hear one in person because I don't want anything real loud. From research I'm finding that the Jardine and HMF (the only two I'd consider outside of the Drummer) are both as loud or close to as loud as the D&D. I'm hoping the 1125 Drummer is a good bit mellower. I'm looking forward to some good sound and photos of the final production parts. |

The y-pipe collector can be had in 304 SS for about $80. The rest of the pipe is about $10/foot, also in 304 SS. Even spending the time to polish it to a near-mirror finish wouldn't run into that much money. The muffler, unless it's a hand made one, would run no more than $275 (Borla turbo is the closest I've found) so personally, I only see $450 for the metal itself, tops. Even a custom made muffler would only be around $350-400. Yes, I did some research into this. I'm almost to the point of making my own, or buy a rashed Jardine and cut it off where I need, since it's stainless anyway. Don't get me wrong, there's been a lot of research that has gone into this pipe, but I just am NOT seeing $1000 there, especially for a shop that already has the equipment available to make them. I'll probably get banned for this, but it's just my opinion. I said the same thing about the spools before and had already made a set for myself. I'll probably make my own exhaust and then tune it on a dyno, along with the ECM-Spy. That $500 I have left over will go a looooong way to dyno tuning time. If the pipe were closer in cost to the other drummer offerings, ie; $700, then I really wouldn't say anything at all and in all likely-hood, I'd buy one without any reservations. As it is, I just don't see myself dropping that much $$ on anybody's exhaust pipe, regardless of who made it. |

You should get banned for giving a well reasoned opinion on a internet forum. But, you probably will get unjustifiably flamed for not recognizing the R&D cost Keving put in. Funny thing is people will type anything, but speak with their wallets. Time will tell. GL to Kevin and you. |

It takes time, money, space, etc... to do what KD is doing! I don't even want to think about the hours upon hours he has poured into the R&D! I'm betting that is why its priced like it is. I can say I sure as hell wouldnt pour my heart and soul into a project and not expect a little reward in the end!! And anyone to expect him to not stake claim in his reward at the end of the tunnel is crazy! and in the end, its his pipe! He can charge as much or little as he pleases. Now, if I only could afford an 1125....... |

those links make me sick when i look at them then look at my statement from HD credit directly afterwards. ...completely sick. and... it looks like im gunna be prostituting myself for the next couple months to come up with that kind of cash... ive paid more for a single performance item before- -a turbo for my truck $1200 -a torque converter for my truck $1100 -a set of 42" tires and axles $1400 ... oh wait and i spent 2300 on a transfer case for my jeep one time. most of the above items gave me a pretty warm fuzzy feeling inside; i bet the drummer sound on the bike i owe entirely too much on will soothe my woes. The thing that has been missing for me ever since my Lightnig went away, is the little pause right before you hit the starter, and then BOOOOMMmmmaababbbaaabaabab...... No matter how $hitty a day you're having, it just all went away. At least for a little while! It's steep, and trust me, I'm probably the cheapest bastard you know. But it's worth it. Rob |

I passed on the drummer last time with my XB12R. Went with the D&D. I regret it. This time I won't make the same mistake. I can't wait until its ready, and I can spend my summer watching the looks on peoples faces, when they hear me coming and then realize that I've passed them already. Troy |

Hope to have some sound clips for you guys after this weekend. Will also try to include clips of an XB12R with a Buell Race Pipe and an XB12R with a Spec Ops pipe with a stock tip for comparison. |
