Why would they go public now? I would have kept all of my eggs in one place til the financial scene turns. |

It doesn't sound like they did an IPO. It reads like they merged two units, one of which was already a bulletin board stock. It also reads like they simultaneously got a private placement, which means someone put a slug of cash into the company, probably with a bunch of strings attached like interest on convertible preferred or a note with warrants. A private placement in this market is not going to be a good deal for the seller, at least not in the luxury motorcycle niche in this environment. I've been trying to raise investors for a building products manufacturer, which is a real bitch in this environment. I might be wrong, but it does not appear to be an IPO, which as you said, would be really dumb right now. |

im with guell, if i could afford one i would be riding it. the wraith is a bit over the top, but i admire the craftsmanship of those bikes. i give cm alot more respect than occ, occ just grabs parts off of shelves and bolts them together. cm fabricates everything, even the motor. |

CM uses S&S. They were at the S&S 50th Anniversary in LaCrosse last year. They do what Buell does with the Thunderstorm. No matter who makes the motor, those bikes are amazing and I'd love a HellCat. (Message edited by Buellinachinashop on February 18, 2009) |

Yeah, they don't build engines parts at Confederate. But they have some really cool frame and suspension set-ups. Good looks on that HellCat. They put OCC and the other catalog assemblers to shame. OCC even buys frames. If you buy your frame, suspension, and engine, and you just make a fender and gas tank, you're pretty much a light fabricator and assembler. And man, they have bad taste. |

We're still wondering here at Gander Mtn when the OCC bike is going to be used in adversting. |

i thought i read on cm's website that the cases were manufactured by them. under every bike where they are speced out, the engine part says (confederate desing), maybe the rods or pistons or crank might be s&s, but i dont think the cases are anything but confederate. Engine: Confederate radial F131 CID (4.375" bore x 4.375" stroke; entirely machined from aircraft grade billet aluminum). wow the new fighter is awesome!!!there will only be 45 made it looks like |

The X wedge. the development of this motor must have cost S and S a lot of money. I do not see it being used in many bikes. Apparently it does not fit the current Harley Davidson/ Chopper frames. You have to have a new mounting system, etc. Plus fuel injected, and some of the chopper builders do not want to mess with the injection items? REX |

I got the following out of Kevin Cameron's article on the X Wedge a year or so ago: 1) It addressed all the weaknesses of the Harley engine 2) It had piss poor horsepower The article was before realease of the X Wedge to the public, and I don't know if they addressed number 2 or not. If Rex is correct, they made a huge mistake moving the mounting points without easy to use adaptors. |
