WOW!!!! Got my bike out for a short 100 mile run and it's like having a new bike. The combo of the race ECM and muffler is amazing. Before I know it, I'm doing 100mph in a heart beat. Would have like to get just a bit faster but it was very windy and was already sideways just to stay going straight.

SO MUCH FUN. CAN'T WAIT FOR SUMMER AND SOME TRACK DAYS

Again, thank you Frank, this is the best upgrade so far on my bike. Hope you and Lynn had a nice day up at High Country.

Julie,
Sounds like your having fun. Glad you like the race muffler with the ecm. I met a new Bueller yesterday (he saw my buell parked outside a restaurant and came in to find me) and he came by today to show me his bike. Its a custom firebolt/with a lightning rearend. He wants to meet other buell riders. Nice guy.
Again, congratulations on your (new) bike.
John

Thanks John,
Look forward to getting together with you this spring/summer for some rides. High Country is thinking about putting a track day together which, if they do, I'll be there (I hope). Will hopefully be doing the MRA track day in April (I thought I was in March).

Glad you met another Bueller. Does he live in the area?

Love the pics Zac! I've only been up there once and I was driving an 18 wheeler. I remember thinking how much I want to get up there on my Buell.

Julie, I am glad it works well for you. Lynn got called into work very early this morning so I was left unsupervised all day. I took the S2T out and rode North and had to stop at PPHD to warm up. It was 28 degrees when I started but was up to 32 when I stopped. Lucky I had my heated gloves. I braved the traffic through Denver and saw Zac and got the Buell swag. I had a nice talk with an older guy that worked there and he wanted to know about the S2T. What a great shop. It is the only HD place I have been the the staff treats me like a valued customer. The guy I was talking to (I do not remember meeting him before) knew that I had bought a Uly and that I lived waaaayyy far South. I wish my memory was that good.

Zac and I talked to a young Bueller in the parking lot. Nice fellow and on a well ridden red Firebolt

Well I got to warm up. In retrospect I should not have done that trip but well worth 250 miles on the S2T.

Frank

Frank, glad you made it home OK, cold but OK. Yea, I don't enjoy riding in real cold weather. Did that a few yrs ago when we went to Utah for Racing2savelives and it snowed. I couldn't quit shaking on the bike I was so cold.

You ought to get some more heated gear, it makes all the difference in the world, a little pricey, but worth every penny.

Julie, yes I thought about it. I stopped at PPHD and looked at some heated pants that plug in. I was actually ok but my legs were getting cold and the cold air coming into the helmet made my eyes cold, yes my eyes. I had to keep blinking to keep my eyes warm. I have never used heated gear until I got the gloves about 4 years ago. Of course I only have the hookups on the S2T which I do not ride everyday. The heated grips on the Uly are ok but not as good as the gloves. I should have worn my chaps at least.

As I pointed my front tire on the old S2T Thunderbolt towards Denver, braving the 7,000 plus feet of Monument and dodging cigarette butts that careless drivers, oblivious to their surroundings, tossed out the windows and pieces of trash jumping to freedom from trucks in a crosswind I thought to myself I should stop at the Castle of Rock and give you and Dan a call. But as the temp got warmer and I got into the grove all I wanted to do is hear the 74 cubic inch motor with race exhaust on my 13 year old Buell motor down the highway.

I often wonder what people think when they see the S2T. I mean people that know a little about bikes. They must think hey here comes a bike and as I roar by them I can only imagine the conversation in the cage of metal, plastic and glass to go something like this.

Is that a BMW? (a lot of people mistake the S2T for that due to the color I think)

It sure was loud and sounded like a Harley? It sure did not look like a Harley! It must be a Ducati due to the speed.

Oh to be a fly on the wall.

When I returned home, to tuck the Thunderbolt in with the other Buells, I was still cold, even more so since I rode the last 130 miles straight through. All I wanted to do was warm up and go out again.

We were thinking about you today Frank. We did our usual short ride down to Monument and stopped to get a bite to eat. This man and his son came out of the eatery and the older one said "is that a kawasaki" and his son said "no, kawasaki only makes dirt bikes". All we could do was shake our heads.

Then another guy came in with his wife and parents and he was admiring the Buells. Said he wanted to get one some day. He wanted a "crotch rocket".

Riding the highways is definitely not our idea of fun. I know, to get out on the bike is fun enough but having to deal with idiots and all the stuff that goes on isn't worth it to us.

I'll actually be working in the Springs a fair amount starting in March and I keep trying to talk Dan into allowing me to ride there. But, being the protective husband, he's not in favor of me riding down there. With the new muffler system set up I might get into some trouble anyway (like a speeding ticket).

Anyway, next time you think you'll be up this way let us know and we can try to get a ride in.

Take a nice hot bath, that should warm you up.

Oh yea, and Dan has an incredible smile on his face. His newly modified muffler worked fantastic today. He couldn't believe how the bike was running. : )

Where are you going to be working? I imagine it will be at one of the Hospitals. I am kinda of glad Lynn got called into work today because riding by yourself is one thing but trying to keep track of two bikes in Denver traffic is something else. I guess I am like Dan. I do not want to put Lynn in danger if I don't have to.

Riding to the Springs every day is worse than going to Denver. The traffic on the North side of town is getting real bad around 4 to 6 pm everyday. There are a couple of back ways which I am sure you are aware of...

I am glad Dans bike is running great I cannot wait to hear them. Frank

I'll be at the Kaiser which is in the north end of town, off the Briargate exit. I'll be doing mostly administrative type work. I've been down there twice already and, yea, the traffic seems to pile between there and Monument.

I didn't realize they were doing so much construction down there until I went down on Wed. I know I could take 83 up but people get to hauling on that road too.

Dan's going out to check the AFV on our bikes after our ride today. It will be interesting to see what they read.

Way cool, the AFV read 95%. It was set at 100% before we went out today. YES!!!!!

Julie,
The new Bueller i met, lives only about 5 miles from me. I am curious to know what mods dan made to his muffler and how it sounds. he sure likes to tinker with the bikes. you are very lucky.
Hope to ride with ya both this spring.
John

John,
Dan said that he needs to ride the bike a bit more before he's willing to expose what he's done to his muffler. He wants to make sure it's going to work out. He's kinda quite about what he does. It's my fault that any of this info gets leaked out at all.

His muffler does sound beefier than stock but not obnoxious. It's not as loud as the race muffler I have.

It's a good thing Dan loves me cause.....Yea, he does enjoy tinkering with his toys.

Here's a picture from our ride yesterday. Dan's bike has transformed several colors, started white, then blue, then yellow and now back to white.

Flxman, yes they are. They were bought at Walmart. Dan, my hubby, set them up with their own switch and they do work very well at night. He put them on both of our bikes.

Very windy today. I got out on Sunday on the Uly for about 75 miles but was mostly out East. It warmed up to 30 by the time I got home. Yesterday was so nice I took the S2T in town to run some errands. Even though we have had a mile winter I am looking forward to nicer weather.

It was a bit too cold here in Canon yesterday, and today the wind is way too strong. Gusts are reported to be up to 50mph today. Even though more snow is needed to build up water reserves, I'm ready for some warm evening riding weather myself.

Dan and I went for a ride after work yesterday. It was very nice to get out and Dan has a smile from ear to ear as his bike is running like a champ. : ) (mine too)

It's suppose to be nice this weekend so we'll more than likely get out. I can't keep Dan off his bike now, yeah!!!!

Hi John, yeah that ride can get very windy. Have almost got pushed off the road down there on many occasions.

Frank, I'm going to try and get a picture of the muffler on here so you can see how it turned out. Pretty nice.

I rode out to Cotopaxi on highway 50 today. When I left Canon the temps were in the mid 50s. Heading west the temps started dropping quite a bit and by the time I got back to Canon it was down in the 40s. Brrrr.

The Cotopaxi General Store is a really cool place. On Thursday evenings they have several local musicians that come by and the local folk are there to eat and listen. Today two of the ladies who work there were practicing and I got to eat a good breakfast for lunch. Maybe when it is warm enough to ride in the evening several of us could make it out there for a foot-stompin' good time.

50 is one of my favorite roads if there are not a ton of campers and tourist on it. I almost hit a Big Horn Sheep in Big Horn Sheep Canyon (I wonder why they call it that? LOL). I got a ticket on that road on my 97 S1 many years ago. Yeah I was hauling a$$....

I have never stopped in Cotopaxi but I always slow down when going through there, at least now I do. Sounds like a good idea Jody.

Heheheh, that's Colorado Frank.
I came around a corner on my last ride and had to hit the binders.
Three young Bighorn were just standing in the middle of the road.

I don't know who was more freaked out.

I keep trying to talk Dan into riding to work but he just won't buy it. Oh well, will have to go for a ride AFTER work. Any time on the bike works for me.

We're starting to plan our bike trip for June. We'll be taking the RV as a base camp and planning different routes to ride the bikes on. Skye will hopefully be joining us for this trip. The only problem will be I'll have to tone down my pace. May need to put a govenor on the bike: )

Hey Firebolt, I'll be on the HPR track on April 11 thru MRA-racing. They're offering a class only track day on both 4/11 and 4/12. After talking to Tony who is the VP, he said the track is incredible. Can't wait. Just need to order some new tires.
