It used the stock rubber /steel screen mesh.I just trimmed the paper off and rtv the k&n filter to the the stock seal screen and put a book on it while it cured. also had to put slits in each pleat area for it to flex.

Looks good man.... good idea

I made the slits in mine and just put a thin bead of sensor safe blue silicone around the whole base and set in the K&N...never thought of that route though...

Not to shabby. Hope it holds up over the long haul being flexed and thumped all the time by the T/B pulses. Keep a watch on it.

I've had here on since July 08 and checked the other day. What's great about this is that it is sealed to the filter seal and the rtv is glued to the screen so it's pretty much stuck on the screen . Thanks for the comments. I took it off and cleaned it with mild detergent the other day in washer machine and added a little oil. Held up great!!!
