Yep traded my 09 nightster in for this i had the nightster for about 5 months...yes it was a nice bike and all but i got bored really quick with it...i drove rockets and dirt bikes my whole life and i thought a change might be good but just not the right time yet for me.

As far as the nightster i will tell you test drive it. You are in the same boat as me when i bought it. I sold my 07 GSXR1000 so i could get the nightster. I was constantly dragging the pipes or the foot pegs in the corners. The only thing i will really miss is the looks and comfort crusing on the highway. I didnt like the fact that everyone i ride with has a sportbike of some sort and well you know how that goes.

Good luck with the search.

Your situation is exactly like mine. Wow, lol.
I did test ride a Nightster. It was a fun ride, very cool bike, but I could immediately tell this wasn't even close to a sportbike - not that it was supposed to be. Fastest Sportster or not, I could see where I could become bored with it. I did drag the pegs just turning into a parking lot. And I also only ride with sportbikers. (If some of those Sportster riders on that HD forum honestly think their bikes could launch on a 1K sportbike, they're delusional.)
My next bike will either be a Nightster - and I'd have to accept its limitations - or an 1125R/CR. The leftover '08 Rs are incredibly priced!
Also - did you do that Sportster trade-up program to get the R? Is it applicable to Buells?

Russ, after owning your bike for a few weeks, what do you think? Is it more fun than the 1K I-4 Gixxer you had?

Yes deff. i love it. I just put a slipon Jardine system on and the remus powerizer and just turned a little over 850 miles on her and love every min of driving it (as you can tell by how many miles i have on it already). My buddy i ride with all the time has a 08 R1 dyno tuned with x pipe and race baffles 176RWHP and he rode mine a few times in the twisties and he really wants one now (he loves the tq. and how it feels.

I love the feel of the bike in the twisties and the comfort.Cant forget about the torque that is always on tap. the only thing i wish this bike had that i miss is a steering stabilizer But all in all Deff. don't have any buyers remorse what so ever. I can go on and on but bottom line GO BUELL!

GPR makes a stabilizer for it I believe.

Please ignore me if I'm talking to a racer but...the best stabilizer you can have is proper setup, good body positioning, and a gentle grip at the bars. Bad suspension setup, death grips and poor form make a very stable bike perform far below potential.
