Part number please for the 09 heat shield? I'm having the headers ceramic coated. I want the heat shield to be black and it looks like it's cheaper just to buy the 09 rather than pay to have mine coated. |

Thanks Krassh. I ordered ceramic coated headers from American Sport Bike. Wonder if there your old cores? |

Last year, I painted mine with Bar-B-Q paint. Looked good but still radiated a LOT of heat. I took it back off and mirror polished the inside. All good now, black outside and almost cool enough to touch. Z |

Could be I believe the already coated heat shield was only like $35 through American Sport Bike plus your core. Al was a little disappointed to learn the '09's had the relocated O2 bungs. Don't know how many sets he had done already. |

Yep, The coated heat shield they had instock was silver and I wanted black. Al was the one who suggested I just buy the 09 shield. I ordered it today $28 and $31 shipped. |

Gotcha was not sure if he had any black ones in stock. Kinda wish sometimes I had gone with black for looks as the silver ceramic coating has done nothing for alleviating my fuel boiling issues. |

I bought an 09 shield just for the looks (~$25), and am thinking about flat black exhaust paint for the header. Any reason I SHOULDN'T do that? |
