There are basically 2 purposes for a spark plug. 1) To create a gap in which a spark can jump and 2) Provide a positive seal so compression and high pressure combustion gases cannot escape. | ||

JT - you just made the mistake of waking up with a bunch of A**holes this morning. I still use the stock plugs. They come up on sale every once in a while so when they do, I get another pair and toss them in the toolbox. I use the Denso Irridiums in the racebike. | ||

most likely stock plugs ngk, takes about 2 0r 3 hours to change spark plugs | ||

I could not find a way to look up NGK plugs by the number on their site so I have no idea what the Iridium # is. | ||

Finally found a site that lists the Iridium # for the CR9EKB it is CR9EIX same plug used in a MV Agusta 750 | ||

Watch the Iridiums for normal riding. I've seen a few sets in XBs that were fluffy carbon fouled. Racing yes, road riding/commuting no. Of course, some of you only get 2500 miles on a rear Corsa III... maybe you should run Iridiums. Also, the CR9EKBs are WORN OUT by 12k miles, which is also valve check time. My 2¢ Z | ||
