I was warming my bike today, and it shut off spontaneously. I checked the fuses, and the ignition fuse was blown. I replaced it, and it blew again after I touched the start button. I have read some of the other posts on this topic for other models. But, are the most common causes the same for non-fuel-injected bikes? Any help appreciated. | ||

I'd look for a wire harness problem. There have been some reported instances of wire harness insulation breakdowns causing adjacent wires to short together and causing weird seemingly unrelated anomalies to occur. I'd look at areas around the steering fork where the wire harness moves with the handlebars and under the seat where there might be interference from the seat . | ||

Llacky pull your manual out check the starter control circuit and look for possible issues related to wiring shorts in that circuit. +1 sparkies idea wiring problem the button push( starter ) blows the fuse. | ||

Go through and check all your switches. I had a similar issue but wasn't blowing the fuse, it ended up being a bad Neutral indicator switch. | ||
